Morning ladies was just wondering how to get my hospital records as I thought doctors would have them but 🤷

You need to contact the PALs (patient liaison service) team of the hospital you want records from. And that will tell you the procedure for requesting them. As it can vary from hospital to hospital.

There should be a form on the hospital website or email address. Not always easy to find. They’ll need a form of ID and they normally say allow 28 days. Very worthwhile though.

It’s called a subject access request and usually it’s to the records team at hospital but there should be a form on the hospital website.

Are you in the UK? I am and all my recent records (last few years) are on the website: patients know best. Whenever I go to hospital I get an email to say my patients know best has been updated and it has all my clinic letters, test results, any inpatient visits etc. it’s brilliant! My GP also has copies of everything on the computer.
