Can your immune system be lowered post op?

I’ve felt a bit worse for wear since my lap and hysteroscopy 4 weeks ago. This past week I’ve felt really run down and poorly. Like I’ve had a really bad bug, I’ve had diarrhoea (for 6 days now so far), feel drained, want to sleep all the time, I’ve had sweats, chills, loss of appetite, nausea and body aches. Could this all be due to a lowered immune system from the surgery? I never get poorly so this is very weird for me!

Have you had a covid test ? These symptoms sound like covid.

Oh for sure. It’s a big drain on your body. Any respiratory symptoms? If so , could be Covid. Or there’s apparently a tummy bug going around - I had it last week.

It may be a good idea to speak to your doctor to rule out infection. Hope you feel better soon. Lap can really take it out of you and it takes time to heal.x

Thanks everyone, I went to do a pcr test on Wednesday last week and it was negative. Still have diarrhoea- 7 days now!
