I have been referred to Worcester NHS for help with my endo. I have been triaged as non-urgent (despite being unable to walk for the last 10 days) and apparently that means at least a year for an initial appointment. I am thinking of paying privately because I just can't cope with this for another year. Previously I have had 3 laproscopies and a hysterectomy with Chris Mann in Birmingham. I am thinking that more surgery may not be the answer for me. So.......
Has anyone seen Chris Mann for an alternative for surgery, e.g. chemical menopause, or has anyone seen Angus Thomson in Worcester / Droitwich for the same? Or to be honest anyone else that you'd recommend for a holistic view of what is best for me, surgery or not.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi I saw had both operate on me. Thompson was great a really good understanding guy . I was diagnosed by him in 2008 before Worcester became a bgse. He did a second op to cut it away then referred me to Oxford as too complex for him at the time. It didn’t pan out as Oxford suddenly stopped all complex Endo surgery for sometime. I never found out why. I hit referred to Wolverhampton instead where I saw Mann. I was warned his bedside manner wasn’t the best but I didn’t have a problem with it. After some years it all flared up again and am now under the John Radcliffe in Oxford. I found Thompson more open to alternatives for surgery. I asked him about homeopathy and he said while he supported homeopathy it wouldn’t help for endo. If I had to choose between them I’d definitely go with Thompson he’s everything a doctor should be compassionate understanding friendly and accepting of your views. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much Bethleah, your answer was really helpful. I hope that you are getting some relief now. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Best wishes x
I'm so sorry that you are suffering this way. I don't have any advice at all (you seem to have a severe case) but I couldn't move on after reading your experience without sending love and best wishes, take care xx
I'm not sure what you've tried already, but just wanted to say that I found diet and lifestyle changes made a big difference to my endo symptoms. A combination of nutritional therapy and homeopathy really helped me and you could always try something like that alongside any medical treatment as long as you get any possible interactions checked. I've also heard that some people find acupuncture helps with pain. Hope you find something that helps.
Thanks for the response. I have tried acupuncture before. I had great results from it but then my acupuncturist retired and I went to various other people and they didn't help so obviously not as well trained on pelvic pain as him. I will take a look at nutrition etc, I know that caffeine is a trigger so I stopped drinking that. I have been sporadic at giving up gluten and diary (I'm a vegetarian anyway) but haven't found it to have made any difference. Maybe I need to be more structure in the nutrition changes. I'll look into it. Thank you!!
