Having had a full hysterectomy and coming of hrt and having injections every three months postrap I think endo is back nearly 20 years later(has been going on for at least ten years) So after seeing a colorectal surgeon and a cat scan she said she can see some diverticular,I am not medically trained but I really want a laparoscopy as I feel it is endo on my bowels. She also said i could have adhesions but won't operate as it could make it worse I am absolutely devastated where do I go from here as my gp won't entertain the idea that I have endo back and don't need a gyny referal as I have had a radical hysterectomy do I stick to the 19! Pain killers and nerve blockers also I am having to give up my much loved job as A,I am in pain,B,I am incontinent and C,I am mostly of my head on all the drugs and keep having accidents at work ,the last one making me realise I can't do this job any more(badly burnt hand) so now I'm just lost in what can I do next

Did you have the Prostap recently? Did it help? It's almost 18 years since I had a hysterectomy and oopherectomy. I've had several excision surgeries for my endometriosis. I've never ever taken HRT but I still suffer with endometriosis.
My treatment plan for a long time now has been Zoladex injections.
Your GP obviously doesn't know that post hysterectomy endometriosis exists.
I'm sorry to hear you are in this horrible situation. xx
Hy thanks for getting back to me,the Prostap was around ten years ago after they took me of the lowest patch of hrt to try to stop the pain am sorry your going through this but at least I now know I'm not going mad thank you
You are most definitely not going mad. Is it possible to either see a more understanding GP or else see a good endometriosis specialist for a private consultation? I don't know how I could possibly cope without treatment for my endometriosis and don't like to think of anyone having to do so. Re the diverticular disease, I also have that and it was clearly seen on a recent CT scan. My doctor and I think I've developed this after so many years of bowel endometriosis causing havoc. However, I don't really notice the symptoms of that, what really gets to me is the bowel endometriosis when it plays up. xx
Hi Shazmo, so sorry it’s come to this. It’s extremely frustrating when you know more about your condition than your GP. Would you be able to request a different doctor at the practice? Someone else might be more knowledgeable/receptive… Are the symptoms you’re having now the same as the endo symptoms you had before treatment? Have they offered any treatment that will help if it is down to diverticulitis? (Maybe they need to try all they can for that, then if you’re still in pain they will have to admit it might be something else??) I understand the stress of having to give up your job - I was too tired, in too much pain, had too many toilet issues to continue. Really feel for you xxx
Thanks for your reply,I feel exactly like I did pain wise, with endo pain I have even said to my long suffering partner it feels like I'm on a period. I am wondering if I could ask to be referred to an endo specialist but don't hold out much hope as the doctors think I'm mental to ask for a referral to gyny! Xx
