Endometriosis after hysterectomy and bso

Hi there, can anyone shed some light on my question, can you have endo after a hysterectomy and bso?

I had this done 2.5 years ago and I'm in the same pain again. Went to endo centre today and he said I can't gave it as I have no gyny bits left. My husband challenged thus with him and he was adamant.

I am in so much pain and distress I don't know what to believe anymore.

Any info would be wonderful x

Could you have adhesions from the op you have had and yes endo can be implanted in different parts of the body so you can still have it, its like a weed. You will need to get a second opinion

Also if you have kept any ovaries you can still have it

Hi thank you for your reply. I had my ovaries removed at the same time. I have seen one specialist today and I'm so upset and I don't know what to do. 😔

Hi , yes you can still have endo. I had the same op March 2016. In more pain now than before. Sought a second opinion as no longer trust original consultant. Was told to stop hrt for two months. If pain improves then it's endo , if it doesn't then it's adhesions. Well pelvic pain has pretty much gone. Instead I have severe bone pain.

Go back 2nd August to see if he will actually help me or just fob me off.

Please seek a second opinion. Severe endo can produce its own oestrogen so is self sustaining. They do take some convincing though.

Good luck

Thank you and I'm trying to keep on but after today I feel a bit deflated, as he made me feel that I should stop looking for answers, accept it and rely on pain relief.. but I will succeed somewhere down the line, Fingers crossed 😁

Don't ever give up. I know how hard it is. There are days when I just want to end my life but I wake up the following day and fight all over again. It took me 30 years , knowing there was something wrong inside, for someone to take me seriously. I will fight another 30 years if I have to. I will not accept that I will need to rely on strong pain relief for the rest of my life or that I can't go to toilet like any normal person.

We all deserve better than this and shouldn't be left to suffer. If we don't keep fighting then things will never change and the next generation of women will still suffer like we are.

Please seek that second opinion, but get your strength and determination back first.

Stay strong you're not alone in this . We are all here if you need us.
