Has anyone on the hysterectomy waiting list had any updates or inclination of when their surgery might be? I feel like life is on hold until I get a date because I dont want to not be free for it.

Hi I know how you feel. I am waiting for an initial consultation again to discuss my hysterectomy and how I got on with the decepeptyl injections. To give you an idea of time, I last saw them in March 2021 and told I would be seen again in 3 months. Still waiting. I can’t see if being this year now because Covid is worse at my health board.

I have even phoned the medical secretary for gynaecology and they can’t give a date or say how long we will wait.

You can’t plan very much into the future can you. Just to let you know you are not alone xx

It’s so frustrating waiting isn’t it, they shouldn’t give us a timescale if they can’t keep to it x

Hi, I'm also waiting. I've had my pre op but no date yet. I rang to chase and they said the surgeon has left and they are struggling to find a replacement and all other surgeons have their own waiting list. I have no idea when it will be now. Originally before Christmas. I'm so disappointed. Hope it won't be too long a wait for you also x

Oh no! Does that mean you have to have your preop again? If its not one thing its another isnt it xx

It lasts 3 months, so will take me to 5th Jan. Hoping they will find a replacement in the time or I will have to go again. Trying to stay positive x

My preop lasts until 30th Jan! It's awful isn't it.

Hey I think it depends on your area, I have been waiting almost exactly a year, I was supposed to have 3 Zoladex injections and then my surgery, I just had my 12th. The hospital phoned Thursday and my surgery is Monday. Hope you’re not waiting too long

Hi, I’ve been waiting 17 months now. I phoned the hospital yesterday and was told they have absolutely no control over it and it could be another 12 months. Like you I have been worried about planning anything but we have done short, cheap breaks and days out that I can just drop without worrying about it. I t looks like you’ll be fine until you get pre -op notification.

Hi AmberSun1 I'm in the south east too

From what I have been told by the hospital I won't be seen till next year spring so mine will be 1 year wait.

I hope you get seen by your consultant soon and that they are not delaying you any further.

All the best

That sounds about right if you think of covid restricting surgery for almost a year xx

Hey I'm also waiting. It's an awful process. Ive had my preop 5 weeks ago it runs out the 30th January but I don't think I'll get my surgery before then. I haven't wanted to book anything all year ... Just in case. Some induction would be good though!

Take care xx

Hi MamaoffurBabies,I've been on decapeptyl injections monthly for about 19 months, I've been on the waiting list for a hysterectomy for nearly 2 years and I've just been told I should be having it beginning of next year 🤞 (still no date 😒) I think mine is taking longer as I need the bowel specialists there too. Hopefully u will hear something soon but I would keep chasing and asking as this can help too xx

Its such a long time to wait isn't it. I am sad that so many people are in the same boat but at least I know its not just me thats been forgotten about. I am probably not at the top of their list. It would be nice to get it done at the start of the year at least to get it out of the way!I hope yours doesn't take too much longer ☹️☹️☹️
