Hi ladies, l posted a few weeks ago to say l was late for my period. After numerous pregnancy tests that all said negative l went for a scan. The scan revealed no cysts, fibroids, issues etc. However my lining was 20mm, not cancerous, and l was told my period should be due within the next 3 days and to take a blood test for pregnancy if l haven't started. No period and negative blood test π I am now 25 days late, probably due my next period soon and still no sign of it. This has never happened to me before as l am always regular every month. Hormonal blood tests all came back normal too. Please advise as lm at my wits end πππ
Advice needed please π: Hi ladies, l... - Endometriosis UK
Advice needed please π
How stange have you recenlty had covid vaccine? As they have said it can alter your cycle? My friend ans sister both had late periods and a bit messed upcylces following the vaccine but then other people have been absoulty fine. Hope all ok soon for you x
Hi. I would echo the other comment here. Have you had the covid vaccine recently? I've always had regular periods, but missed two after the covid vaccine. My other suggestion would be to try a gentle detox (give up sugar) and use things like ginger tea (worth looking up). Hope it resolves for you soon x
Thank you for your reply. I had the vaccine in April and June. I had normal periods and then after the second vaccine in June l had my July period and August has just gone missing. I'm actually due on again for my September period too at any time and l just can't feel its going to happen. Its getting me down now π
Hi. I've just replied to your personal message. I hope my response helps in some way. I also felt really down in the waiting and wondering, but also experienced great body and emotional relief when my period did eventually happen, despite having to handle the endo pain. One thing I didn't mention in my message to you, is that I've read that there's a link between how the immune system works and periods, so I think it could be that our immune systems have worked in a particular way with the covid vaccines. From what I've read, it doesn't seem to be a long term problem, so hopefully your periods should resume as normal before long. I know you've obviously been through your GP to have several tests done, but maybe another chat with them about the effects of the covid vaccine might help? Just a thought xxx
Just an update if you don't mind. I started my period last week. I had 4 days of spotting and now on day 8 of a constant bleed, not too heavy but like a day 3-4 bleed. Altogether lm on day 12 of bleeding now, it doesn't look like its going to stop too π what a headache π«
It's tiring isn't it. I bled lightly for 3 weeks, then went straight into a very heavy period. It might be worth trying to chat to your GP on Monday to say that your period is still going on. Even though it sounds like a vaccine issue, it's always worth mentioning to your GP when your period is out of sync like this. I found it exhausting though as it made me feel all over the place. It's 4 weeks now since my last period and I've just started spotting again, so it'll be interesting to see what happens this week. I might get onto the ginger tea again today. Did you try it at all?
Hi! Yes it is definitely exhausting. Worrying about not starting and then starting and not ending! I didn't drink the ginger tea but a few days before you mentioned that I tried parsely tea for 2 days. I don't know if this helped or not. I will see how l go this week and then book an apt with the GP. Do you know if you ovulated this month?
Also l don't want to take anything to stop my period as we are ttc and l have a phobia of putting hormones into my body π
Yes, the spotting has now turned into a period, so it seems like things are settling down. Not easy for you to be going through this if you are also ttc. It seems like a lot women have had these types of issues since the vaccines and I've read somewhere that they're going to investigate some more. However, from what I've seen it sounds like a temporary issue, so hopefully you'll find things going back to normal fairly soon. I hope you have the chance to give your body and mind a chance to relax today x
I did get something similar last year. I used to be always very regular but my period was late, pregnancy test was all negative. The doctor just told me to wait and see what would happened. It ended up coming but skipped a month basically. After that my period came every two weeks for 2 months...and then I had a 45 days period. During a this time doctor just told me to see if it would continue and tested my iron to check if I was ok. I was already taking iron supplements to prevent any anemia so test came back fine. I do have fibroids, endometriosis and cysts but was always regular before this happened. Eventually I started cycle syncing to bring my periods back to regularity.
Thank you for your reply. Its so frustrating isn't it when your body decides to go a bit loopy on you. I should now be ready to start my 2nd period after missing the last one. However today a had a little spotting l, was relieved and then it stopped π
