So I am 26 and recently got told I have a large cyst of my right ovary which they've since said was a dermoid cyst.
I am having horrible symptoms which include,
Pain on right side pelvic area, including my back and down right leg
Bladder pain when urinating
Bloating
Not being able to eat much and feeling very full after it
Extreme tiredness (needing to sleep after only being awake a few hours)
This horrible 'high' feeling like when you are on strong medication and
Also night sweats.
Has anyone else had these symptoms? or know a way to help deal with them? I am currently waiting to see a gynae but this thing is starting to stop me getting on with my day to day life.
Thanks in advance guys

Hey, I also have several ovarian cysts according to my ultrasounds done in January. I get horrible pelvic pain in my sides, back pain, bowel pain and fatigue. I've also lost my appetite a bit. Unfortunately, I'm also struggling to find anything to help with my symptoms, I just rely on heat patches/hot water bottles and painkillers.
I've got months of waiting to speak to a gynaecologist. I'm currently trying to get my GP to let me have another ultrasound since my symptoms are much worse than they were in January. I know I'm not much help but it's a reminder that you are not alone 💕
Hiya,I had a lap to remove what they thought was a dermis cyst on my right ovary 2 weeks ago. Back in 2018 I had a cyst bleed - super painful! But then no significant symptoms until 3 months ago when I was admitted to a&e after I collapsed at work from pain/body went into shock.
During the lap was confirmed I had an endometrioma (not dermis cyst), and my right ovary was completely fused on all sides to other organs/tissue! Also diagnosed with stage three endo on my uterosacral ligament. They removed the cyst but couldn't get to the endo, also had the merina coil fitted. Now in a wait and see phase but I'm due on next week so will let you know if it's resolved anything!
They could only have found the adhesion/fused ovary by lap according to my surgeon.
Anyway, I ended up going private to get this done (I am lucky as have insurance through work) - but surgery was cancelled twice as apparently even the private sector are struggling with resources and staffing after last year.
If you can, try and keep a diary of your symptoms and push to have the cyst removed. The removal is normally done via key hole/lap so they can get a better understanding of what is actually going on in there!
Really hope they can do something for you soon other than painkillers I struggled to find anything to help with the pain but you are not alone. Sending all the hopes for you to get help from the gynae xxx
Hey there! Hope you have managed to speak with your gynae. I'm going through a very similar issue right now and have constant pelvic pain (cramps mostly) in the centre and throbbing around my left ovary and lower back pain. I feel wiped out with no energy to do anything. Also feel nauseous at times and have very little appetite. I'm going for an ultrasound in a couple of weeks so it will either confirm my suspicions or I'll be back at square one (though I do also have a fibroid and endometriosis). It's definitely affecting quality of life so the sooner I know the better.
If I find out that it is a cyst, I'm going to ask to be referred to see a private consultant (who is an endo specialist). I'll probably pay for the initial consultation so I don't have to wait too long and then get any tests/surgery done via the NHS.
