Traveling with chocolate cyst

Hi. I have about 7 cm chocolate cyst on right ovary. I am planning to go to the US for a week but I started feeling nervous that if my cyst ruptures during the trip. I found that after I got a ticket..... Good thing is, I found the insurance company which will cover even I'm diagnosed with endometriosis. That't great and I might be going to the US, but....I wonder if it's a right decision or not. Does anyone have experience having a big cyst but traveled abroad???? Any comments would be reassuring. Thank you!

Hi I too have a 9cm chocolate cyst and I am travelling to America in March. I have the same fears has you. So I hope someone has some advice x

Hi Rodder. Thank you for your reply! I am going to have laparoscopy sometime between March and May(I was told in December last year). I haven't known when the date yet. I am sick of waiting. So....I try to think that if my cyst ruptures during the trip, I could have surgery earlier. When it happens it happens. I just hope it doesn't rupture while I am on a plane...

Good luck with everything, I am sure you will be fine. There must be lots of people that fly with cysts and don't even know they have them. Maybe ring your consultant just to reassure you xx

Hi I have had cysts of 6cm + and travelled abroad with no problems. It really depends on location of ur cyst as to whether it is likely to rupture and your consultant should have told you this....

Hi Rehanat. My gynecologist didn't tell me about location though....thank you for your reply!!! It helped me a lot!!
