Prostap v periods
Hello! I feel exactly the same way. We have to choose the lesser evil. How many injections did you get? Were you on HRT with prostrap? I am 32 so doing my best to hold on as long as possible before a hysterectomy... Xoxo
Yes I was put on hrt after 3injection ,it didn’t do much at all if I’m honest
Also I’m 47 so that’s why I’m trying to hold out but finding it so difficult x
I totally understand. No matter our age, it is difficult to lose an organ. It is traumatic, to say the least. But hey, if there is anyone on earth that can deal with difficult situations, it is women with endometriosis. We have been through the darkest of times so hopefully what is to come will be happier and lighter. Xoxo
Were you on tibolone? I had HRT for first 5 injections and then doctor asked me to stop the HRT for injections 6 , 7, 8,9 and 10.
No I was on the prostap ,started hrt after 3 mnths after I had mirena coul removed
Tibolone is a form of HRT that is commonly prescribed along with Prostrap. Which HRT were you taking: a patch, birth control pill, progesterone?
Sorry yes it was patch as I want offered anything else 🤷🏾♀️
Hello Cayrie1992,
I have 2 prostap injections and they made me feel absolutely awful. I couldn’t have tolerated anymore. As Gilena asked, how many injections have you had? Are you currently taking HRT? I took HRT from the first day of Prostap, to protect my bones more than anything. I’m currently contemplating a total hysterectomy as I’ve had 2 excision surgeries in 3 years and I’m now left with adhesion pain as well as endo pain. My theory of thinking is I’d probably be in less pain if I removed everything inside that could be aggravating the adhesions. I’m not sure if it’s a logical way to think or just hope, hope of relieving some of the pain I’m in so I can reduce the medication I take.
Only you can mar the decision to have a hysterectomy. If you’d like to chat, please feel free to DM me anytime.
Pixie x💛x
Aaw Thankx for your reply it’s good to no so many others suffer ,I had 6 injections,in total, every 12 weeks,it does make us think hysterectomy is our only hope of being rid of this ,even tho it’s not deffo but I had no pain at all whilst on the prostap so chances are I’d be pain free,I just worry what surgical menapause will bring x
Hi, im currently on Prostap I understand your situation they said the same to me about bone density scans I've decided to be put on waiting list for hysterectomy then be free of the pain i think that seems to be the general route injections then operation but remember its your body xx
So hard to decide what to do x
That’s how I feel too ,just want it all to go away x
I was exactly the same I’m now back on Depo Prevera which I’m still cycling on even tho I’ve reduced my time between injections to 10 weeks. Currently uterus feels like a lead weight with toothache! I was trying to hold off a hysterectomy but think on my next review I’m just going to ask for one
Oh my god I’m at this crossroad now 🥺🥺 I’m due to have my 4th prostap in a few days and we’ll, I’ve been in such aweful pain from these injections. Most days my finger joints hurt to much I can’t even pick up a glass of water in order to take my pain killers!! That was such a low point for me I can’t even describe. Im on tibolone too and not sure if it’s doing anything for me tbh. All I’ve ever wanted is to be a biological mother, it’s all I’ve ever ever wanted and I just keep wondering where do I go from here? I still have bowel problems and uterus pain even with the injections so it’s not helping my Endo pain either. Currently having both Endo and prostap pains make me bed ridden on my days off work. I just think what quality of life is this 😭😭
Hello Cayrie1992,
I'm in exactly the same boat after having Prostap3 - feel like I've been hit by a bus, to be honest. Since last week my pelvic pain has returned but no bleeding. I'm seeing my consultant next Tuesday but had a consultation with me GP yesterday as I was concerned about this pelvic pain. He said I shouldn't have pelican pain whilst on Prostap3, but he was satisfied that nothing sinister was going on like appendicitis. I'm really concerned though, as I'm in pain. Hope you're feeling better soon xx
