Can someone please tell me if the patches used for menopause are effective?..
I had 2 course of prostap, should have taken 3 courses originally but decided not to. This injection was making me feel depressed, hot nausea feelings you name it. My periods can when I took the first course, after and came every month. ( I took my first injection in Nov. 2016). My periods has stopped now for 6 months.
My GP told patches will help with hit flushes and bring my periods back.
Can someone give me some info about these patches. WAITING....
THANK YOU

If so I am on those and they help with the side effects of prostap for me but I am on both the prostap injections and the patches. I have oestrogen only patches and then also have a mirena coil insitu.
The downside to them is getting the dosage right is hard work and needs altering often. Also, I find if its too hot, I do sport, I go swimming or wear clothing that is too tight the patches fall off.
Have you tried any tablet form of HRT as that is usually the first step? Xxx
Yes it’s those patches. (HRT). I had prostap over a year ago, decided not to take the whole course. I only took 2 injections, my periods came, no problems. But since April I have had any periods. I have no problems with them falling off they only comes off if I take them off.
Ohh right ok. Thats strange I would be pushing for that to be investigated further. I dont think Prostap could cause that after not taking it and your periods returning.
I am not quite understanding what should be investigated. I wasn’t even told about the side effects. I wasn’t told that my period will stop or would continued. But I will have a word with the doctor and hear what he says. Thanks for you reply.
What I mean is that usually when you stop Prostap and your period returns thats it. Once your ovaries and oestrogen levels return your periods stay the same. If yours have suddenly stopped I dont think the prostap has anything to do with it. Which is why I think you should go to seek medical attention for investigation as to why your periods have stopped.
