Post op tips?

Hi everyone! I had my first laparoscopy 11 days ago, which finally confirmed endometriosis (it’s been 13 years of being shrugged off!) It was absolutely everywhere — bowel, bladder, fallopian tubes, chocolate cysts on my ovaries, and also DIE on my appendix (so had that removed!). The surgeon said he removed everything he could see with his eyes. And I also had a hernia that was repaired in the same surgery. I’m feeling very sore from the bed rest and I’m slow to move around, I’m wondering if any of you have any advice regarding post-op moving and stretching? I know it’s a good 6 weeks at least before I can do proper exercise again, but any tips for what is possible fitness wise before? And do any of you have any experience about how long it takes to be able to do light yoga and things like that again? Thank you!!!

As long as you don’t push yourself, have you considered gentle yoga which doesn’t stretch your stomach area? Even then, things like rocking your pelvis and submerging in a bath can be really useful to aid movement. ❤️

Hi Maddi, I’m 17 days post lap surgery. I only found out I had it 8 weeks ago after other symptoms that weren’t endo related and like you apart from the appendix, it was everywhere. I’ve just been resting and going for walks and slowly feeling a bit better.

The tiredness is the main thing that hits me at random times. Just listen to your body, easier said than done and take the time. I work out most days (pre op) so I am struggling with that, but not going to push myself. I have had two caesarean’s so I know how jumping back in quickly can impact you.

I am back at work but taking it really easy and not going in everyday.

Hope you feel better soon! Xx

I am supposed to be back at work in two days and honestly don’t know how il manage 😂

Kids are back at school tomorrow and I fear the walk to school and back will be just about enough for me for the day.
