Had my lap yesterday discovering endo on ligament and pouch of douglas...he said and "other places " but none of it removed. Afterwards when he came to see me he said he didn't remove it cos it would just grow back any way. Have to see him in three weeks does anyone have any experience on this?

Feeling a tad annoyed post op
I had my lap in January this year and had aheadions on my pouch of doglas and was that bad it glued to my womb also had endo in my womb but they excised mine but only been 9 months since I had surgery and pain is back Iv ended up in hospital twice and got refered to endo specialist clinic and the consultant was very unsupportive and he said there is nothing more that they can do and have to put up with this pain every day not just when I'm on my period I have been to see my gp and Iv told them I want a secound opinion but gp has laughed at me and speaks to me like the symptoms are all in my head I'm going to go and c a different gp and going to fight for a referral cause no woman should have to put up with this amount of pain xx
Hi. Did he specify where the "other places" were? For example, if he saw disease on the bowel or bladder he would be unable to remove it because he is not qualified to do so (he's a gynaecologist, not a bowel surgeon or urologist). However, in specialist endo centres there are many surgeons available during surgery if disease is found in these places so they can try and remove as much disease as possible. To be honest, it really doesn't make a difference that he didn't remove it. He would have just zapped a few places and it wouldn't make much of a difference to your symptoms. In my
Opinion I think it's best for them to get in, confirm the diagnosis and then find a suitable treatment. Excision surgery is the best for endo and I am currently on the waiting list for it. I've spoken to women whose lives have changed drastically for the better after excursion surgery.
Speak to your gynae about possible treatments.
Best wishes
Sounds like he isn't a specialist then? He should not have said that to you! I had my first surgery without removal but my second allowed me to have a bowel prep that I needed and to have it excised with the right team of people. You need to be seen by someone who understands Endometriosis. I think there is a list of accredited places somewhere on this forum. Having it removed properly by a specialist has taken away so many of symptoms and because it was done in time I managed to save both ovaries.

Thankyou I am going to see my gp in a bit I've downloaded all the contracts that state this type of endo should be reffered to a specialist center...can I ask where your endo was found? Xx
That's really good you are prepared Yes, I had endo in my pouch of douglas, on my bowel, bladder, front of my uterus, both ovaries and small deposits on the pelvic wall. xx
Oh god sounds like I don't have it that bad then when I hear other women's stories xxx hope you feel better xx
For all you know you could have it in those places too if your surgeon said 'and other places'.(?!?) I know specifics because my gynae went through all of the areas in detail with me and let me know anything else I had questions on. I really hope you manage to get the right treatment you deserve! xx
