Endo Bloating - help?

Hi all! Any advice for reducing bloating? I’m on decaptyl / prostap injections for endo but since my last one in Feb it just doesn’t seem to be working and the bloating is out of control.

Tonight I look the size I was at six months pregnant and my tummy is so hard and sore.

Any tips? Usually mebeverine helps but it’s not touching it.

Have you tried buscopan? Sometimes that helps me x

I have, they don’t seem to be helping this time around 🤷‍♀️ Thank you though! X

Hi, have you tried probiotics? A three month course of something like biokult might help reduce the bloating. Good gut bacteria is important for so many bodily activities such as mood and pain management.

Also in terms of diet, if you are eating a lot of things that cause wind (beans, lentils etc), it's worth adjusting your food temporarily and then reintroducing later. x

Hi! That’s a great idea, thank you! I’ll get some and give them a go. I’ve ordered a book with anti inflammatory recipes too so going to see how they go and hopefully it’ll help! X

You're welcome 😊 I have a leaflet about probiotics from my dietician that I'm happy to share if you send me a private message. Also got a leaflet about balanced /healthy diets too.

Hope the bloating subsides x

I second the recommendation of probiotics! I use the boots "women's health" ones. I also find senocalm really helpful for bloating (combo of peppermint oil and something to release trapped wind). Hope they help :)

I was on prostap before and when I stopped treatment because I am trying for a baby and once it was stopped it was working better than what I thought because the pain I suffer is now worse than ever and now I am waiting for my operation because my consultant has said when treatment was stopped for me it would come back and now am struggling to get pregnant because of it

I’m sorry to hear that :(

My consultant agreed that if I stopped she’ll add me to the list for a final laparoscopy to remove any she can find as she’s expecting the pain to return more.

I think for me it’s a case of weighing up the benefits and negatives from the side effects / it not really working and I’m going to stop the injections now as I just can’t carry on like this.

I really hope you manage to get pregnant soon! Xx
