Endo bloating :(

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all staying safe!

Quick question - is it normal to bloat on a pretty regular basis with endometriosis? I usually weigh 52kg and now weigh 54.5kg. Will the bloating increase your weight while bloated?

I don’t think I’ve put on nearly 2.5kg in a week or so!! 😰😨

Thank you x

I think so. I’m having those issues, I was trying to keep track of weight, scales kept fluctuating.

Don’t forget if you’re doing exercise, muscle will increase weight.

Thank you! I’m very observant about my weight. I about had a heart attack when I looked at the scales!

Yes I have suffered bloating since the age of 22 but I had put it down to IBS symptoms but I was diagnosed with endo in 2018, had my lap in 2019 and since then my bloating has gone down but was a lot worse during 2018-2019 before my lap.

I gave controlled it by drinking one meal replacement shake at least twice a week which has made a huge difference. I normally drink the meal replacement for lunch.

Try it out and yes I weight 54kg and have always remained 50kg. But I am now healthy 54kg.

Before I had my operation to removed all my endo I was the biggest I have ever been in my life. I really do think endometriosis causes weight gain - even though there is no medical evidence of this. I ate really well and went to the gym x 5 times a week every time I stepped on the scales my weight had gone up. Hormones can cause weight gain too. Since my operation the weight has started to drop off me, I’m not exercising at all and eating more! Crazy!

Yes!! Its crazy 😢 Ive put on an awful lot of weight and in december 2018, after my laparoscopy I dropped so much weight I came down to 8 stones (march2019). And before I started the menopause injections the weight started creeping up, my belly always looks like I'm pregnant. From a size 8 I'm now squeezing in size 12s. So all in all in a year I am now 10.6 stones.

I’ve got the same issue. I’ve always been very obsessed about my body and even half a kilo more would make me feel anxious. I eat healthy and I go to the gym 4-5 times a week but my during my flare ups I definitely put on weight.. and it’s literally everywhere, not just my belly. It’s promising what other ladies are saying that after a laparoscopy your weight can get back to normal. I’ve stopped weighing myself but I obviously still notice weight fluctuations on my clothes. Does anyone know about any rapid remedies for endo belly?

Hiya I have the same problem too on an almost daily basis. I’ve recently been prescribed Mebeverine as a muscle relaxer for my endometriosis pain but it is also used by people who have IBS. I have to take it 20 minutes before a meal and I’ve found it’s helped a lot with keeping bloating down . Maybe ask you GP or gynaecologist about it? Xx

I am having the same issues especially since I had my laparoscopy in November

I thought I was putting weight on but I'm eating normal and some days less than what I usually eat. I've put it down to the endo, I've started drinking peppermint tea, not sure if it's helping much because my stomach is still really big and bloated.

If anyone has tried anything that has helped please do let me know.

I feel really paranoid now with my body and try to weigh really baggy clothes to conceal my bloated stomach.
