I am currently on the waiting list for surgery for something that “might be a very weird presentation of endometriosis.” I have a 9cm endometrioma-like mass, which isn’t connected to the ovaries but is attached to my uterus by a stalk and seems to have some communication with the uterus. I have a range of annoying symptoms, including bowel pressure, but no bladder symptoms. I’m also taking Zoladex and Tibolone.
In the last two weeks, a dull continuous ache has developed around my sides. It is focussed just under my rib cage on both sides, and extends around my back a little. Could this be linked? Do I need to see the GP or do I just wait for surgery? Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Hi, these are normal pains that you will experience. The endo tissue tends to move about and that is what can cause the pain. I find exercise helps to ease the pain. I have come off all treatment because I gained a great deal of weight from the Zoladex and was getting muscular pains in my shins and palpitations. I have been off all treatment since January 2021 and waiting to have a Laparoscopy. Also turmeric tea is good The pains you have are common and can cause a great deal of fatigue which i get with the endometriosis. Fingers crossed we can have the surgery soon to remove the tissue
I hope you get answers soon! I’m also waiting for surgery to confirm endo and have experienced the side pain too! I’m sure it will be related, but there is no harm arranging telephone appointment with your GP just to rule out other things like kidney infection, as these can get nasty without treatment!
