I’ve been waiting for my lap since September... the pain is so bad but every time I call (most of the time the hospital don’t even answer the phone) I’m told that my hospital aren’t doing any outpatient surgeries atm. It’s been like this for most of the past year ... we aren’t even in a high risk area of COVID and I see other people on here getting their lap dates all the time! It’s really frustrating, does anyone know if it’s area by area whether they’re offering outpatient surgeries? And how is this determined when our COVID numbers in our area have remained consistently low??

Laparoscopy still waiting
Hey hun I was put on the list in Sept2020 too, I’ve been to an outpatient clinic at the hospital since (Nov) and had a telephone apt with my consultant last month. I live in an area that’s been notoriously bad for Covid however I have had a lot of complications in the last 9 months which has resulted in me being critically ill in hospital twice so I’m not sure if that’s made a difference to me? I’m still waiting for surgery date even though my consultant says I’m now highest priority you can be categorised for surgery, I’ve just started Prostrap in the meantime to try and help...
Recommend you go to A&E, if you’re in pain make sure you go you’re entitled to the help you shouldn’t be made to suffer, sending you love and praying you get a date soon x
If you don't mind me asking what did you have wrong for them to push you to the top of the list? x
I’m still on the waiting list too from last year. They had restarted them and had extra clinics on for consultations and surgeries by nhs paying for extra clinics at the private hospitals but second wave came and all stopped. I’ve looked into going private but all private surgeries are cancelled currently and have been since December and currently planned to until End of March as NHS are doing emergency surgeries etc in the private hospitals too currently. They kindly advised me there wasn’t much time difference in waiting if private and wait for nhs currently because if covid goes up then private will stop again and they’ll have three months to backdate which they’re hoping to fit into 1.5 months meaning earliest for me even privately would be end of April more likely May. NHS waiting list advised me last week they’re expecting to know more at the start of March about reopening surgeries and clinics that aren’t just urgent cancer cases which is theyre only remit currently. So he’s said call back then to see. It’s a nightmare and I completely get t but also it’s months and months more of our lives in agonising pain 😩
I’m in East Sussex FYI
Hello, I've been waiting over 12 months for a lap now. I'm sure it will be affected by what health care trust area you are in. I'm unfortunately in Leicestershire which was hit really badly throughout the whole of the pandemic.Hope you don't have to wait as long as me. Stay strong.
