Mid cycle cramping normal when on the combined pill?

Hi, is it normal to experience cramping mid cycle when you're on the combined pill? The reason I ask is because I am waiting for results of a MRI to establish if the cyst in my right ovary is cancerous. The ovary is currently cramping, not too painfully but consistently all day. My understanding is that the ovary doesn't release an egg when you're on the combined pill so why would i feel mid cycle cramping? I was diagnosed with endometriosis and underwent a laparoscopy 7 years ago, I was very lucky to be relieved of endo symptoms however the cysts did grow back and I had a lot removed during a c section. That was 5 years ago. I started to get twinges recently so went for ultrasound that showed a cyst in right ovary but also thickening of skin of ovary which could indicate cancer (or hopefully and more likely scar tissue from laparoscopy). Now with the increase in pain mid cycle I'm questioning every niggle. It's an anxious time waiting for results and my head's working overtime. Thanks in advance for any replies.
