Combined pill

I can't take the mini pill or other progesterone hormone treatments as it makes me very depressed and anxious and feelings of rage so basically just doesn't agree with me! I can't have the coil put in at the moment either. So I'm considering trying a low dose combined pill called millinette but I'm quite concerned about the health risks with being 39. My blood pressure is okay and weight okay but sometimes I can be quite imobile for days at a time due to pain and also my stress levels can be pretty high. I did take a combined pill about 10 years ago which made my blood pressure go up and I got horrendous headaches so had to come of it. Can't remember the name of it..

Does anyone of a similar age take a combined pill and get on ok and does it help painful periods??

I'm not of a similar age but was on millinette for a long time, it was one of the first I tried when I was 17 and I found it probably the best of the bunch, however it didn't touch my periods and the bloating and mood swings were horrendous, but everyone is different x

I've was on provera, microgynon, cilest and now I'm on gedarel. It seems with all pills I get a little high blood pressure and very temperamental and depression. I tried being off them . But my horrendous periods had to be dealt with . I did t feel like having coil so never tried that . I'm 37 so I feel u. I changed to gedarel because I was spotting un between periods . But my gp feels I might be getting menopausal. Anyways waiting to be seen by gynaecologist. Feel free to chat if u have any questions

Thanks for your reply tiger - cub. So I see that gedarel is a combined pill also. Have you been on it long to notice any side effects settle atall? It's just a nightmare knowing what to do. I was only on noriday for 7 weeks and while it certainly calmed the pain i get with my periods i just had no control over my emotions. The 2 periods I've had since have been worse than ever so I really need to do something. I did have the coil a few years back which didn't give me any side effects mentally, but my pain is completely different now and it didn't help with that...

I’m not of a similar age (20) but I also cannot be on progesterone only pills as they make me so depressed and feel terrible I’m also on gederal (150/30) and it’s the best pill I’ve been on out the bunch, I’ve had nearly zero side effects on it, it stopped my break through bleeding and it hasn’t affected my mood at all. I will however say the withdrawal bleeds I’ve had are very crampy but I take it back to back for three months at a time so I’ve only had a few periods on it and that was before my endo had been removed so I will have to wait and see if it continues.

Dear Charlie! I have been on gedarel for only 2 months . So I'm fairly new . But my in between spotting didn't happen last month. And I just had one episode of headache. Now d bp is been like 130/90 which is a bit higher than my normal reading. But let's see how I go . And yes f may I ask when did hv a lap. And is ur family complete?

Oh okay thankyou. Well I took my bp yesterday to check incase I start the pill and it was 114/73 , mine was like yours when I saw the dr a month ago, I felt all stressed and anxious so if I do start it and I get all stressed it's bound to shoot up - I'm not sure if my anxiety can take it! I had a lap 4 years ago now and I then developed chronic pelvic pain. They think I have a spasm in my pelvic muscle. Basically in the days leading to my period I can hardly walk so the pill is to 'calm it all down'. We decided not to have any children.. I hope your appointment with the gynecologist go's well.
