Mid cycle bleeds

Hi all.

I am experiencing mid cycle bleeds around ovulation. Can last for majority of a week. I used to get alot of pain around ovulation but now that has stopped and swapped for these bleeds.

I recently had a laparoscopy and excision of endo. I have no idea whether these can be linked ?

Should i be concerned that the bleeding might be something else on top of the endo?

Not seeing consultant till mid sept.

Thanks in advance

Has your body been on any contraception before or after your lap? This can affect your bleeding times etc, takes a few months to settle back down but the fact you aren’t getting pain is a good sign!

Thanks for your reply. No contraception used. The bleeding mid cycle just started about 8 months ago. I figured it might stop after laparoscopy and excision.

Then I’m not sure, sorry! I would definitely speak with you GP, get some advice but it is normal to have bleeding after a lap, how recent was it?

Hi RoGemRo I’ve had mid cycle bleeds because of my endo. It didn’t start until I was grade 3 endo. I would ask your consultant if it’s possible to see you sooner because he/she will need to discuss potential options. Mine continued on and off for 4 years before I managed to control them. So, I would say ask your doctor about your options. Mine didn’t control until I had been on the GnRH analogs. Hope this helps.

Think i will make an appointment for GP. Consultant said i need to consider contraceptive hormones to slow things down.

Yes that’s a good starting point.

I had mid cycle bleeds for years (often old dark blood rather than bright red) which I think are due to adenomyosis rather than endometriosis- another option to consider..

This is bright fresh blood like a period. This morning i have pain like ovulation pain (ovulation should have been last week) so maybe seeing as i only had the procedure a month ago things might still be settling down.
