Hi just looking for some advice-hope everyone is okay.
I have suspected endo, currently on blood thinners for a blood clot I got caused by the pill which I was given to help endo symptoms.
I used to take a herbal tablet called agnus castus last year to help with anxiety and I think it may work for helping endo pain. I'm not sure I can take while on blood thinners, is any one else on blood thinners and takes herbal medicine? The Dr's are not sure I rang my pharmacy and they don't know either. Thank you in advance x

I take asprin which is a blood thinner along with my general multivitamins it's totally different but I'm thinking you could ask if it's safe in one of those herbal shops like Holland and Barret they usually have a lot of training in their on these kind of things I know this as I applied to work their once and they have to do special training into what they sell and know a bit about each thing hope you get answers you need
There is training, but if someone mentions medical issues they’ll run as it’s too much of a liability. It’s the same with most things these days. Certain conditions for therapies would need the person to get the ok from GP.
It might be worth speaking to a medical herbalist. I used Agnus Castus years ago for a while, there was a caution, but can’t remember what now. You still have to be careful with drugs and herbs.
Agnus castus is progestogenic and shouldn't be taken with contraceptives/hormone meds as it has quite strong effects. There is very little clear evidence on herbal medicines and frankly I would leave well alone one that interferes with your hormones since you have already had a clot caused by hormone meds. I would wait until it resolves but in any case I don't think this is the place for such medical advice.
There is no evidence that complementary or alternative therapies such as herbal medicines can control endometriosis, although some people may find that certain therapies can help them manage their symptoms. We would recommend that your consult with a medical professional before using such a therapy, particularly if you are on other medications.
Shops selling herbal medicine may well be very knowledgeable about the products that they are supplying, but they are not medically trained
