Hi, has anyone tried herbal teas or certain vitamins to help with hormone imbalance, pain and discomfort in bowel, skin improvement...because of endo? Want to see if herbal stuff will give me more energy and hopefully overall make me feel a bit better..
Thanks

I looked into stuff too. They say that chamomile, and green tea are good for inflammation and uterus pains. Magnesium is good to help stop inflammation as well. So almonds, chocolate, and magnesium tablets/pills. I can't remember what all I have tried. There is an endometriosis diet you can try. Try and avoid soy and sunflower products, they contain plant estrogen. I love how the doctors say to exercise to help reduce pain, it's like HOW?!! I can barely even move half the time to go pee, let alone exercise.
Hi Rebecca, I took complex B vitamins for years as a pharmacist recommended them to help my immune system. I am now taking aloe Vera gel which I believe is good for digestion, inflammation and immune system. Also believe magnesium and zinc are good which I take in a general supplement (50+ for me I am afraid). I also drink herbal teas more or less exclusively now - echinacea is good for immune system, chamomile for stress and peppermint and nettle for bloating/ digestion. I have found peppermint too stimulating to take just before bed.
Try having a chat with a local pharmacist or health store for the symptoms that bother you the most - they can be really helpful. I have also invested in an excercise ball which I believe can help with core strength without having to be overtly mobile (though I am no excercise guru!). Together with Aquafit classes i feel like it has helped lessen some pelvic pain and helped my mobility.
Wishing you well and hope you find something that suits you
Lots of resources online to help with hormone balance. empoweredsustenance.com/?s=... She doesn't have endo but it's an excellent site.
Find a good naturopath to help you with what to take and when or even a herbalist. Try to keep track of what you introduce to your strategy and what you drop so you can try to figure out what works for you and what doesn't. Off to have my Tulsi tea now!
I've been taking Omega 3/6/9 oils (higher quality the better!), Primrose oil, herbal blends that contain turmeric, ginger, chamomile... and some that don't have English names. (I'm getting a masters in TCM, many are Chinese). The Omegas and Primrose has definitely helped, but you need to take it in double quantities as what is usually recommended on the bottle. I also changed my diet, I don't eat gluten anymore, sugar or any sugar subs (just honey).. I'd say the most important aspect of this, is not what you take, but also what you eliminate from your diet. Hope that helps!!
