Dissolved stitches??

Hi all.

I had surgery 4 weeks ago. How long does it take for the stitches to dissolve? I still have a little bit sticking out of one & my belly button I can still feel the stitch I don’t know if that’s normal or not? X

I'd call your GP and get a nurse to remove them. I was told to get mine removed after 1-2 weeks if they haven't dissolved on their own, seemingly if they're left in too long they can get infected. Getting the stitch taken out is super quick and wasn't painful xx

Mine was nearly 4 weeks ago and still have stitches left in. They will come out when they r ready. x

Mine were about 6 weeks, belly button was last to go. I also had a couple of bits sticking out and they came off when I was washing, the stitches underneath had obviously dissolved.
