I'm due a laparoscopy but does anyone know if you have to stop the Depo contraceptive injection? Pretty sure, that's what's been covering all my endo symptoms as they're so much milder now.
Second question - anyone have any tips for the painful sex symptom of endo? It's so bad, we've stopped at the minute and it's so depressing!
Also, anyone know the likelihood of having endo due to genetics? My Mum's was severe!
Thanks all

That’s good the injection worked for you, I was told it’s used to try and calm everything down before the op side.
There can be a tendency for it being hereditary, consultant asked me if my mum had it, we aren’t sure, she did have a lot of problems and hysterectomy in her 30’s, so could have. Turns out paternal aunt had endo as well with hysterectomy to help get rid of it.
I was told to continue my contraception (pill) before and after my laparoscopy so I dont think you need to stop taking the depo.
Can't give you any sex advice as my sex life has dried up too - literally 😂. I've also never found an answer for non-painful sex, but I'd be happy to find one too.
Endo runs in my family too - most of my mums side (including my mum) have endo, so I think there is a strong possibility that it is genetic.
Ah, that makes me feel better! I think I’m due to come off in autumn anyway as I’ve been on it three years - hoping they’ll see the severity! Thanku lovely x
Ah ok I’ve just stopped mine due to zodalex injections after being on it for over 2 years, I was still having awful symptoms on the depo just no periods so that’s why I stayed on it x
Ahh, gotcha - I still get pain but not as bad as when I was off it - no periods too! Lucky I had the painful sex side as I probably never would have picked it up otherwise! Just interested to see how it all unfolds x
