Managing endo symptoms.

I have been advised to consider using contraception to manage my endo symptoms.

Note: I also have and get endometriosis cysts.

I just wondered how many women actually recommend and use contraception as a management technique?

Thanks.

Hi I am on the pill to manage my bleeding but it helps to a certain degree (doesn’t make me flood my clothes) but it still makes me bleed for months at a time.

I guess it’s about trying things and seeing if anything works for you :) x

Hi

I suffered for many years with endometriosis before I was diagnosed. I was then fitted with a myrina coil and I can honestly say it changed everything for me for the better.

Before being fitted with the coil I was on very strong painkillers, on long term sick from work. I couldn't walk or even stand up straight due to the pain.

A few months after the coil was fitted my periods stopped. I could go back to work, go out and do shopping. I also got to ditch all of the painkillers that turned me into a spaceman.

When I had the coil removed to try for a baby my symptoms gradually came back and now they are at the unbearable pain level. It's been two and a half years since I had it removed and I cannot wait to have it put back in.

I can't offer any advice on the contraception pill as it's not suitable for me (migraines)

I should note for you that I also get the cysts.

I hope you can find something that works for you

Take care
