Hi can anyone help me. I’ve had the marina coil in now for just over 2 months and I’m finding I’m losing a lot of hair, has this happened to anyone else? Or would anyone know why this would be happening?

I have had this too!! It does slow down after time but I'm a year in and definitely notice it still, albeit at a much slower rate.

It’s hormones the Mirena has something called testorone in it which is a male hormone which shrinks the hair follicles causing a type of male pattern baldness not to scare you but it’s common it Dosent mean you will go bald but it’s down to each individual if it stops or not when I was on the injection I had it for 3 months it never stopped my head itched and I could feel it falling out I stopped the injection because of the thought of becoming bald I read up on every hormones going and all of them can cause hair loss I wish people would discuss side effects I absolutely hated it saying this it was the second time in years I had it the first time I had no symptoms but a lot younger then I find my hair drops out more the older I get

Hopefully it will stop but I couldn’t handle it anymore and stopped the injection then my hair grew back hair grows in 3 month spurts so whatever you did 3 months ago affects your hair today
