I am 23 and was diagnosed by a laparoscopy with mild Rectovaginal Endometriosis in May 2019. I was told by my doctor to start taking Cerelle to ease symptoms and for contraception. I am only able to take the mini pill due to suffering from migraines in the past.
However in the past 4 months it seems that I am on my period for between 2-3 weeks, off for 2 weeks, and then I come back on. Although I don’t experience as much pain anymore during my period and they aren’t as heavy, it is very annoying. Has anyone else experienced this during taking Cerelle or the mini pill and if so what did you do?
I have also since December 2019 started to get pain in my bum again during vaginal sex. Sometimes I have to stop and my boyfriend has to get me a hot water bottle as I experience stomach bloating and pain after. My boyfriend is very lovely and does anything he can when I am in pain but it is still extremely uncomfortable and upsetting to not be able to enjoy sex at times. Again I am unsure if my endometriosis is returning or if this is just a normal pain that I will have for the rest of my life.
Any advice on both matters would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you

Hi sorry to hear ur not having a great time at the mo, I use to take the mini pill, it was great when I was breastfeeding my children but crap to use as a contraceptive! I was the same as u bleed for most of the time and it was really heavy, I would say out of a month I would probably only have 1 week of no bleeding, my endo is stage 4 and everywhere, I'm now on the depo injection and it's been great 👍 no periods and has helped with some of my endo pains too, I do take meds too. Hope this is of some help, even if it's just so u know ur not alone, gd luck and I hope u find something that helps u xx
Thank you so much for your reply. I was considering getting the injection but the only thing is if I had a bad reaction too it you can’t do anything about it for 3 months which concerns me. Maybe I need to have a rethink. Thank you again xx
Sorry to hear about your trouble with the pill. I am actually on the same pill and have experienced similar issues with breakthrough bleeding. Being on the pill for over a year means I have gotten used to it, I typically have a month or so without any bleeding and then the following month I might be spotting for the entire month, but it never reaches a heavy period stage which is crucial for me.
