Pain relief

Hi!

I’m 17, and new here! Although I haven’t been diagnosed with Endometriosis, my GP thinks that I may have it and I have been referred to a gynaecologist.

A lot of my pain is in my stomach ( sort of through my belly button), my hips and my lower back. The pain also makes me feel quite sick and I was just wandering if you have any advice on how to manage the pain.

My GP has given me medication (that does help the pain) however the pain is still very much there. I’m not sure what else I can do to help the pain. Does anyone have any advice? 💖

Hi Aishaa112 Endometriosis is just the worst! I find heat pads (try CuraHeat) and baths help. If the pain meds aren’t strong enough definitely ask for stronger ones...I was on Naproxen for a while, and found them helpful. Best of luck x

What pills did ur dr give u? I find that if ur lucky enough to know exactly what day ur due on start helping urself before, so about 2 days before start the naproxen or ibuprofen. Then as soon as u see blood start the meds dont wait for pain to kick in get to it first! I also follow a anti immflammatory diet which has more or less halved my pain.

Also a hot water bottle no matter what weather have one with u!! I dont even holiday ( even hot countries) without mine... have even been known to have mine in car or at work

Hi! My gp gave me Naproxen, Omeprazole and co-codamol, they do help but I’m still in so much pain! What kind of things does the anti inflammatory diet involve?

I’ve been glued to my hot water bottle the last few days!

Thank you so much for the advice! 🧡

I feel ur pain im now 44 , ive had pain since i was 13, whilst my mates were out playing i was in bed with belly ache!

Not good! It taken me till now to get it!!!

Im not healed but i can function and go to work or out and not go to bed for 3 days.

I can even go to gym.

It basic really , so i always make sure my guts healthy ie good probiotic and digestive enzyme as when ur on period ur bloated and ur body finds it harder to digest.

I take anti imflammatory tablets like tumeric, ginger also evening primrose.

The most important thing that worked for me was goin ant immflamotorie food free... no gluten , no dairy, no yeast ,i just eat all clean food... chicken and veg and lots of fruit . I drink 2.5 litres of water. On first day of period i generally fast or just eat fruit as i get so bloated! I just found that my old diet was awful..... i would eat crisps, chocolate loadsa bread! And id get so bloated and constipated.

And just feel worse.

Just some advice start using the naproxen couple days before coz they take 3 days to kick in. Also with cocodamol i would make sure whilst u take it to buy urself some lactulose as it makes u extremely constipated and that is severely painful after a couple of days.
