How long did you wait for your first appointment after referral

How long did you wait my endo is getting worse each month I’ve had horrible pains down my groin since my last period how long did people wait for their first appointment I’ve been referred to saint Mary’s Manchester

I was also referred to Saint Mary’s - which from my experience is a great hospital. From the first referral date to be seen by the specialist I waited 5 months, then it was another 6 months before my surgery date. I was down to see a particular consultant though which may have made my wait time longer.

When did you get a letter that your referral was accepted

I think it was about 6 weeks

Dr Edi-Osagie did my surgery and Dr Kenneth Ma was also in my surgery too. Dr Edi-Osagie said it went well he got rid of all the endometriosis, however he had to remove a lot from a lot of places so I’m still very sore and recovering slowly. The nurses and whole team at Saint Mary’s were lovely. My only complaint would be the discharge you’re left with lots of questions! My advice make sure you have questions written down for your consultant for when they come to visit you, then you can hand them the questions to answer. I was still out of it when he came to visit and just cried and thanked him! I wish now I had asked him more. I really hope you get your appointment soon xxx

That’s who I’ve asked to be referred to met him once a lovely man I saw him before I went to my g.p but he already told me his list on nhs is 9 month long but he does a good job at excision that’s why it’s so long lots of people want to be seen by him I’m hoping he Dosent plan to retire any time soon eek x

You’re right he is lovely - a very special person. I hope he doesn’t retire too!
