Are these stitches dissolvable?

I had my op 2 weeks ago and everything is healing really well. I’m just worried if these stitches are dissolvable or do I have to have them taken out I just seem to see the ends and the knot of the stitch. My gp doesn’t know what type of stitch it is and it doesn’t say anything on my notes about having my stitches out. Has anyone had similar stitches and how long does it take to dissolve?

They look like dissolvable; but it can take about three weeks to come out, mine took about that. If they're bothering you they can be removed sooner by the GP nurses.

I kind of pulled on one a bit with tweezers and it looked like the bit I could see would never loosen, but then one day it kind of just rolled off on it's own. Was a little weird as it left a little hole like a piercing, which healed.

Thankyou. They don’t bother me too much but everyone around me is worried and the fact my gp didn’t know I was a bit concerned but if they come out that’s fine. Like I said it’s just the knot and the ends I can see. Thankyou for responding and your advice x

Don't let the doctors take them out unless you need to, I was told to go to GP a week later to get them removed and she had to rip them from my skin with tweezers which hurt worse than like the entire surgery! After I made her stop, the others popped off on their own a week or so later x

Mine looked like that at about 4 weeks and when I went to my check up the consultant snipped them.

I would leave them as they are for now and if you are due to see your doctor soon I am sure they will remove them if not I’d just go see a nurse at 4 weeks if they are still there to have them removed.

Sometimes the dissolvable stitches take longer than others.
