On Friday, 2 weeks post lap, I had all my stitches out. Today my bellybutton is still sore, and I've noticed another stitch right at the bottom of my bellybutton on the right hand side. Why would I have 2 in there, and do I need to go get this one taken out or can I just leave it?
Update: the knot was loose and came away, now I just have the two dangley bits, bite the bullet and pull or book another appointment?
Are they clear/clear-ish? If so they’ll dissolve. If not, you may need to get them taken out.
Its just white and very rightly knotted, the other bellybutton one hurt like hell to take out
Hmm. I did not have a problem with my first surgery. However now I am unsure. Mine are dissolvable and I’m kind of in the same situation at the moment. Its been almost a month now 😳 wonder if I should go to my GP to get them out so I don’t ruin anything.
It's probably best, mine started to hurts after two weeks and the skin got all red and angry, now they're gone the pain has virtually vanished
Hi, can I ask you why did you get them out 2 weeks after? I never got told anything about my stitches and wondered if they would dissolve - that haven't. It will be 2 weeks after my laparoscopy on Monday. Thanks
The nurse told my dad they'd disolve but my discharge letter said get them taken out a week later, I finally caved at the 2 week mark where they got painful and red and flaky x
I had my lap a month ago for weeks after my belly button was sore saw my doctor he thought it was infected so I would get the pain checked out as for the stitches I never needed to get my taken out mine have only just started flaking away so if they are dissolvable I would leave them until they are ready to flake away 😮
