Hello,

I was simply wondering if anyone had any suggestions for remedies or supplements to help support hot flushes? I am experiencing them following Deceptyl monthly injections. I am not taking add on HRT.

Thank you so very much.

Regards Emma

Hi try sage tablets and black cohosh is also supposed to be good. I find cotton pyjamas and a summer duvet at night with the window open also helps with overheating at night.

I have recently started taking this mixture before going to bed: half a teaspoon each of: turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, mix these into a paste with olive or almond oil , then swallow. It doesn't taste great, but it works. You could mix it with something else, but not milk or dairy products.

It's working for me , for a month so.. despite the taste I carry on because, at very long last, I don't have to change top in the middle of the night and I have better nights sleep.

The cinnamon rebalances blood sugar, the turmeric helps with inflammation and the ginger gives some energy.

Good luck!

Hi. I would say it works the majority of the time. However, at ovulation time and just before, the same pre-periods and a bit during periods, I will have some nihhtly hot flushes, but much less. Out of these times, yes it works, it has seriously reduced them. I stopped taking this concoction for about a week and they came back with a vengeance. The night before, I was drenched in sweat at 1am, 3am, 5am. I changed my top at 5am and took some paracetamol as I had a headache. Last night, I went back on the concoction and I slept from 11.30 to 6.am. Its worth a try. Other people take Sage tablets (healths shops) and swear by them. Let me know what works for you, its always interesting to find out what other ladies'remedies work. Stay safe. 😊

I should have mentioned that a lot of ladies also find that to go on the keto diet reduces/stop their hot flushes, mainly reducing /stopping carbs, sugar. It's worth having a look, there are lots of interesting recipes on line. Hope you find what works for you.
