I’ve noticed a few posts over conceiving following laps & hope my post can offer some hope.
Background info- was TTC for 5 years & 10 months when I was eventually diagnosed with endo in June 2017. I conceived after the lap but it was a chemical pregnancy. Afterwards my endo returned with a vengeance I had another 2 laps - one in March 2018 with general gynae & July 2018 with endo surgeon. I conceived my daughter Francesca 2 months after 3rd lap & she arrived safely June 2019.
My endo was in POD, uterosacral ligaments & rectum. My endo affected my uterus lining as it made it uneven & a hostile environment for an embryo to implant. I was lucky it didn’t damage my tubes or ovaries. My AMH is very low.
It was a tough journey but when I look at my little girl it was worth all the tears & fight to get her 😍 I also have a grown up son so I feel blessed ❤️
Good luck to all that are fighting this vile disease & trying to have a family ❤️ xxx
Fab, I've been trying for 2 years now and just had my lap a week ago. Surgeon said he didn't see any reason now for me not to conceive naturally so I really hope it happens. Xx
Best of lucky hun. Your story sounds similar to mine. I've now got two little people after having everything "hoovered out". Everything was rather messy.
Thankyou so much for posting this. I’ve been trying to read positive stories to try and think positively. Would love to here so many more stories like yours. I’ve been told by my gyno to wait ttc till I’ve had surgery as he said he got a less then 10% chance with how it is atm after surgery chance will increase up o 70%. I’m still waiting for my first surgery. I’ve recently gave my AMH levels tested it it’s came back normal/ slightly lower normal for my age. Thankyou for sharing and your daughter is so beautiful x
Thank you so much 🙂 I didn’t manage to conceive at all before I had my surgeries. I know it doesn’t always affect fertility but in my case it did. That’s very good odds you’ve been given post surgery👌🏻Good luck with your surgery hope it goes well & gets you closer towards having your baby 😊 hopefully you will soon be posting happy news xxx
Can you please private message me were you got treated.
I have been told have an endomerioma on my right ovary which causes my low reserves. But how to I know if I have a bad endometriosis which is creating the hostile environment and making the embryos not implant?
I knew because the endometriosis caused my lining to become uneven & no embryo would implant as my body would “think” I was already pregnant. I had my scan before referral for 2nd lap the sonographer thought I was pregnant coz of how the lining was ( I wasn’t pregnant)
I would definitely recommend speaking to an endo specialist about how the endo might be affecting your fertility xxx
This is great to hear! Congratulations! I have severe endo in the same place with two unsuccessful ivf transfers. I feel my first lap was unsuccessful and I think like u my uterine lining is a hostile environment. How do they find out if it is or isn’t hostile?
Fertility consultant does not want me to have another op before next rounds of ivf, however, I have a a private appointment with an endo excision consultant in two weeks time as the endo is now so bad I’m getting problems with cramping mid cycle now and I want to hear their take on it. Any advice would be great
It’s tricky as endo doesn’t always cause fertility issues. My endo grew on uteroscaral ligaments which made my uterus lining uneven so body would think something was there so wouldn’t implant ( the sonographer thought I’d conceived when I hadn’t & my fertility doctor thought it was a polyp.)
I would see the endo specialist for another opinion. I would postpone any treatment until you’ve seen the endo specialist. If it was me I want to to treat the endo before proceeding with any further fertility treatment I want to know it had the best chance.
Lovely story, thank you for sharing. My operation was cancelled for this week, rescheduled for next month. My end goal is to be able to be a mum. Ive been taking Triptorelin for the last 4 months currently on temporary menopause, did you have to go through this before your lap? If so how long did it take for the injection to leave your body and start trying to conceive?
I will be 49 next year and really need to get trying right away to conceive
Thank you very much. I didn’t have to use any Triptorelin -I tried to manage my symptoms it wasn’t easy!
I started to try first month but I had post op issues with my belly button healing so was unsuccessful until my 2nd cycle. I was 37 having my daughter so not very young!
All the best with your surgery I hope it gets you closer to having your baby xxx
Huge congrats, your little girl is gorgeous, it must be an amazing feeling to have her after all you’ve been through 😊 thanks for sharing it’s nice to hear success stories from other ladies with endometriosis xxx
Ah that's fantastic news for you. And she is just beautiful! Am about to go for my 3rd lap now in dec... 3 inside 2years! And have amh count of just 1.7 now! Have been told to go straight to Prague for donor ivf in Jan n not to loose any time! It's lovely to hear that it does all come together sometimes- gives us all little hope on the bad days. All the best to u n ur new wee family
Sorry to hear you’re having to have another laparoscopy it’s very frustrating I had 3 within 13 months.
I would try not to worry too much about AMH ( mine was very low it was 4 when I was 32 -I was 37 having my daughter god knows how low now!!!) as long as you are ovulating regularly with clear tubes then you have every chance of conceiving ( once the beastly endo is treated)
Good luck with your surgery & I hope you conceive shortly afterwards xxx
Thanks so much for your story. I’m in a similar situation. I had lap and dye test 6 months ago with ablation (monopolar diathermy) but my pain has returned. I had minimal stage 1 and it was on utersacral ligament and pouch of Douglas. Can I ask if it impacted on your periods? I have light periods and worried that my womb lining is thin. I am going to see another ob gyn to ask about excision and hoping he takes me seriously. Any advice would be so welcome xx
