Hi! I have purchased a tens machine.

I have a few questions for anyone who has used one before. How best have people found to use these? How long for? Which setting is most beneficial?

Thank you!

Hello I have one. As to the best setting I found just trial and error until I found one I got on the best with. I found some kind of thickly and other too strong so just finding the right one for me. When I use it I tend to use it at work so I'll stick the pads on and connect it up and use it all day and just keep adjusting the intensity setting as required. As it only works whilst it's on the longer you use it for the longer the pain relief /minimalises.

Yes I have noticed that once I take it off the pain re appears! I have also found some of the setting extremely strong! I will keep experimenting. Thank you x

Hello,

I use mine alot! I have fallen a sleep with it on before, make sure you dont do that as it can "burn" your skin.

There is one setting I prefer to the others. However some days, I prefer others. Depends on the pain.

This is the one I use.

Hi Gem,

I use to use one, and found my tolerance built up over time until it eventually stoped being effective.

I did start off at a lower setting and experimented with the different rhythm patterns to find the ones that helped the most for me.

Mine has timer settings on it and I would use it at night to enable me to fall asleep (as otherwise couldn't sleep for pain). I did find I would often wake up when it shut off though as the way it works, from my understanding, is it distracts our brains from the pain. When it isn't in use your brain resumes processing the pain signal.

Make use of both pads and experiment with moving them around. Even moving them slightly can make a difference, both from the get go and to reposition to prolong effectiveness over a session.

Good luck, I hope it makes a difference for you!
