Hi girls

Has anyone tried a tens machine for endo/period or back pain? Wondering if they work or help with any symptoms at all.

Thanks

Hayley :)

It was suggested that I use one by the pain management consultant.  I wasn't sure but it is working for me.  It is giving me relief quicker than any drugs and I am taking painkillers.

I've been using a tens machine for the last 18 mths or so. It helps with my leg pain. I also use it on my belly and back.  It works a treat for me. I use heat pads and painkillers as well but the machine seems to work quicker and without side effects of the painkillers. Hope this helps.

I have tens machine and for back pain brilliant. I haven't used it as much for period pain but I have been told to use it. For period pain there are 4 points on your back that you put the pads on. The same way when they use it in labour.

For a none drug method it can be really effective and you can use it all day. Though if you are make sure you have a stock of batteries at home. Only downside can be some of the styles can be a little obvious. I have worn mine at work and you can get a lot of people asking about it. Though I would rather that and be pain free than the other way round.

You don't have to spend a lot of them but I would recommend one with 4 electrode pads.

Hope things improve for you xx

Hi

Someone suggested a heat lamp for pain I haven't tried it yet as I am on zoladex at the moment and the pain isn't so bad but I will be trying it in the future, they do get quite expensive but the portable ones are cheaper.

Mine does help with my back pain. I would recommend trying one. Lloyd's pharmacy do the 4 pad ones for about £15.

Hi, I've tried the TENs machine before a few years ago and it did not help me at all as my Endo was stage 4 really horrendous pains. However, I can say it did help me with my back pains but not on bladder, bowels, ovaries pains.

Good luck, I hope it helps you.

Sweety.

Boots also do a tens belt so you don't have to mess about with stickers you can just strap it on and move about with it on for the back pain it brilliant. X

Lloyds pharmacy do a disposable one for about £5 you could try , and if it helps then invest in a proper one. I've had mine on tonight to help with my back pain, it's worked a treat.

Thanks for all your responses! Thinking they are well worth the investment. As I live in NZ they are (like everything) 10x the price here haha. But as I'll be in the uk next month thinking I will purchase one there. Do you think I'll have any problems going through customs with it in my suitcase?

Random I know haha
