Rectal bleeding.

Hi

I would love some advice.

I have endometriosis had 1 x lap so far and had 3 months on zoladex which finished in Feb. Over the last month or so I've been really nauseous and started experiencing really bloating again. I am feeling so uncomfortable. Over the last week I have also noticed rectal bleeding when I have been to the toilet and I'm starting to worry. My endometriosis was found inbetween my ovary and bowel and my ovary was severely attached. I'm still getting pains in my bottom and left hand side inhad before my lap.

Do you think the bleeding is to to with my endometriosis or something else as I have a small prolapse too.

Trying to book an appointment tomorrow just wondered if anyone has experienced rectal bleeding

X

I get it and for me it's the endo. It was one of the things I was asked about when they were trying to diagnose me actually.

I hope you dont mind me asking but do you get it alot? I get it alot when I pass stools and then sometimes non at all. My stomach is so bloated and any food makes me so nauseous.

I don't mind at all! I get it usually at the start of ovulation week and a couple of days before my period. It might be worth tracking when it happens for you in terms of your cycle. Have a think about other causes as well, like are you taking a lot of cocodamol which can constipate you? It might not be constipation in the traditional sense, but that your stools are quite tough to pass. I've been concentrating on my diet and particularly on getting lots of different veg and drinking bone broth to try and heal my gut. Early days to say if it's helping but it can't hurt!

Luckily I am not constipated and I've cut down on my cocodomol. I'm going to book doctors tomorrow and get some advice and hopefully they can help because atm my tablets dont help my rectal pain x

I don’t get rectal bleeding. But I do get a lot of pain in my abdomen when I want to go. Every month when I get my period, my digestive system is all over the place. My stomach get so bloated, lots of gas and cramps. This month, I’ve suffered a lot. I wake up in the middle of the night with cramps. I’ve been diagnosed severe endometriosis 4 yrs ago. And had a lap in 2017 before starting ivf. All the symptoms is back again.

I had this for several months every time I opened my bowels on my period, mine was menstrual blood. I also had left sided pelvic pain and stabbing pains up my rectum along with nausea, fatigue, lower backache and other endo symptoms. I had a colonoscopy which came back all clear but when they did my laparoscopy they found endo all around my rectum and POD amongst other places, which explained the rectal bleeding. Once they removed it, no more rectal bleeding. It’s been a year now (touch wood)

Hope you get some answers xx

This is exactly the same as me. I really think they missed some in my lap because I have all these symptoms! I am going to keep an eye on bleeding when I am on and go back asap

Hi. Is it fresh bleeding? I get that too on the run up to period post ovulation. Bowel dr couldn’t find it penetrating the bowel from inside but the swelling from my uterus has caused pressure and I’ve developed large internal piles that bleed. It probably is related to your endometriosis but it’s always worth getting Gp to check out new symptoms x

I get rectal bleeding during my period (quite heavily), its basically like having a second period, if its bright red and fresh then yes, its from the colon area. If this is new please see your doctor!

I would advise you to get it checked. It's more than likely related to endo, but could be an infection, polyp, hemroids, or rarely it could be something like Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I have Inflammatory Bowel Disease and lots of rectal bleeding along with chronic diariahea, pain, bloating, extreme weakness with significant weight loss (2 stone in 8 weeks) were my symptoms. It's more than likely Endo as my doctor told me that Endo can put further pressure on my bowel.

They didn't listen. She gave me hemaroid cream and said to keep an eye and upped my cocodomol. I tried explaining about my nauseousness and my bloating and bleeding last week when i was on. Going to keep an eye and track on next period then call my gynecologist.

Thank you for your reply its nice to know I am not alone.

Thank you all for your comments! I am going to keep an eye on symptoms and bleeds and see when I'm menstruating and go back to gynecologist with results and go further if it continues cxxx

I have had severe rectal bleeding for 40 years, since I started with endo. I had a hysterectomy 35 years ago, my ovaries were left because of my young age. However, my rectal bleeding has continued. I lose large clots as well as blood. I suffer pain until my bowel has finished bleeding. This also occurs during the night. My bowel lining is very thin. Hence, why they dare not operate. I also have a rectal ulcer. It is like having a period out of the bowel.

Thank you for your replying. In am about to have my period so I will travel this further. I always feel like I have a tube up my bottom and it's quite painful. This was one of the first symptoms I've taken to the doctors. I have had multiple operations up my bottom growing up so I am concerned it is scar tissue etc. I am going to keep track of signs and I am awaiting a cancellation appointment at the hospital. The pain is getting worse with each cycle so fingers crossed ot can be sorted soon.

I'm sorry to hear of all of your troubles. I am 28 and they want to remove my left ovary because if my pain however I have asked to wait until I have kids.

Hope your situation can be sorted or helped
