They can do a stool test. I couldn’t see blood but it showed up in a test. It’s really simple. It’s important to get it checked. Mine does seem to relate to the endo.

Would that need to be done while on period as I don't feel comfortable doing it.

It’s a home test, but I don’t think it matters. Mine was when I was on Zoladex. You get a sample and rub a tiny stick in and put in a tube. They send for testing. Worth doing

Hi,

Snap! Perhaps suggest a sigmoidoscopy or an internal ultrasound (specifically a TVU or one that is taken through through the rectum). A CT /MRI can also pick it up.

Best of luck!

How would I go about that

I would explain to your doc that you bleed from the rectum, mention clotting if that’s applicable and the extent of bleeding (most likely during your period, endo sufferers can bleed outside their period too) - bleeding from your rectum is not normal and your GP knows this. Mention your other endo symptoms and that you’d like to get confirmation of this as it’s impacting your quality of life. Ask for the testing I suggested or a Gynae referral.

That's it I don't I have any other symptoms.

My doc said it wasn’t rectal bleeding even though it was, no tests done or checks of any kind. It was over 10 years before I had an operation to confirm it was so, I had my ovaries removed but part was left behind because it was connected to the bowel.

Don’t suffer like I did insist on further tests or a referral to a gynaecologist.

Thank you. I'm sorry they put you through that. I just don't want to go and say oh I have this and cant prove it. I just don't want to make a big deal out of nothing.

What will gynaecologist do

If the gynaecologist believes it is endo they should give you an investigating operation to hopefully cut away the endo . Mine was found by accident, I was being investigated for possible ovarian cancer, it wasn’t, it was endo .
