Fed up now 😢

Hi all I had a laparoscopy last Tuesday and I have felt utter rubbish ever since I’ve put a few posts on here as I’ve never had one before and most of you have so it’s helped with the advice I’ve been getting but I’ve just found out my bellybutton is infected and it’s been hell to get medication as people (pharmacy and a nurse) were saying it wasn’t and it was just irritated from the dressing anyways long story short I have antibiotics as of today I I just feel awful in myself dizzy tired and a major headache is this all normal or am I overthinking as I suffer with health anxiety (the joys) and I don’t want to keep going back to the doctors

Hello!! The exact same thing happened to me, it took about two months for my belly button to get back to normal, I had antibiotics, antibiotic cream. Neither worked so I won't lie I had a bit of a tantrum and stopped everything. I visited my mum and had a good rant, she insisted on rubbing on sudocrem and covering with a plaster for the day and cleaning at night. After 4 days all was sorted! I hope you're feeling better soon, once you have fully healed you will be feeling great and it'll all be worth it.you can do it šŸ’ŖšŸ»

Thankyou so much! I’m glad I’m not alone I’ve felt a little better I’ve had two antibiotics but still so sore I’ve just been so ill I can’t deal with it but yeah it’s nice to know I’m not going mental or dying lol x

Just add two things. Wash it every day with saline solution and my nurse used a silver plaster.

You’re not alone! I had my laparoscopy last Tuesday too! I’m back in hospital with an infection so I totally understand how exhausted you’re feeling. I’m glad you’ve managed to get antibiotics otherwise you might have had to go to hospital. You’re bound to feel washed out and unwell! You had major surgery a week ago. I’ve been extremely sick and feeling dizzy the past few days however they’ve told me that’s normal after the op and it could be all down to the infection. You shouldn’t feel bad about going back to the doctors but I understand how you feel, you don’t want to annoy them or piss them off. Trust me you won’t! It’s your health at the end of the day and that’s the most important thing x

Thankyou it’s just nice to know it’s not all in my head and that I actually did feel really unwell due to the infection or the op as I really didn’t think it’s was going to affect me so bad as the cuts are tiny xx

It definitely isn’t in your head. They’re not just tiny cuts though you’ve had major surgery! People forget because it’s just key hole that it’s major but they’ve been moving an awful lot inside of you you might as well have a massive cut across your tummy to represent what they’ve done inside xx

I’m just devastated they found nothing and everything looked how it should be at least if they did find anything then at least I’d have answers xx

I'm so sorry you're going through this, I've had a similar experience and am 6 weeks post op, I'm having to go to the doctors every 2 days at the moment to have it cleaned and dressed as a slough plug had set up home and wasn't budging so prevented healing. I've been referred back to the surgical team but haven't heard anything, one of the nurses at my GP got fed up and managed to cut most of it away herself on Monday! Keep your chin up lovely, in the grand scheme of things it won't be long until you're healed xx

First of all: take a deep breath! It's only been a week and surgery recovery takes 2-6 weeks so it's perfectly normal to still feel like rubbish! Don't beat yourself down already. Take the antibiotics and NOURISH your body. You need to get lots of freshly caught omega-3 rich fish, bone broth (collagen is FUNDAMENTAL after surgery), fresh raw veggies and fruit and that will help. It will take time and lots of work to recover from surgery and get your body to function and work again properly. Keep yourself under control but I'd say sepsis is highly unlikely so don't get down :)
