Hi all I'm new to the page, sorry for long post..Just wanted to talk a little about my symptoms and see what u think? For years on and off I've had horrible heavy periods and excruciating period aches in tummy and lower back whre i struggle to function!! I have pains down my legs, inner thigh at the top in groin etc,I feel so run down and tired all the time! I've had a transvaginal scan and couldn't see ovaries, all they said was i had v.thick endometrial lining? I've been referred to gyny so not sure what to expect,is laparoscopy best? Just don't want to be fobbed off?

Laparoscopy is best/only true way for diagnoses. It's unlikely you'll be fobbed off though some women have come across some medical "professional" not as caring as you'd expect. Ovaries missing during a scan is not uncommon and I too have a missing ovary when it comes to scans.

Thinking though could it actually be endometriosis if they couldnt see any lesions on scan or are they not always visible??

Scans most times won't pick up endometriosis, sometimes they can pick up deep infiltrating endometriosis but not always. I'm moderate/severe endo and nothing has ever shown up on scans for me.

I have had Endometriosis for the past 12 years with that I have had four surgeries to remove endometrial pods from both sides of uterus, bladder rectal area, And my symptoms are exactly as you have explained in your post. Endometriosis does not always show up on scans, ultrasounds etc.

I feel for you and wish you the best. Hope they can get to the issues.

Thankyou :) can I ask was it easy for you to get laparoscopy?

Super easy. Well, let’s just say that my cramps are much worse than the recovery from the lap. I’m happy to help and answer any other questions you have that come up. I know it can be hard to go through. Having someone to talk to makes all the difference.

Thankyou, really appreciate it,just don't want the gyny to say try this tablet and that tablet some of which probably have side affects as long as yr arm without actually having a diagnosis :/ heard stories whre women struggled to get a lap for one reason or another,I just want some answers as making me v.down.

I understand. Just let them know that you know something is wrong and it’s interfering with your life on a large scale and you need peace of mind. I really hope you can get the lap so you can feel better and get the the bottom of what’s going on;)
