Hi everyone,

I am 3 days post hysterectomy with removal of ovaries, tubes and cervix. Was just wondering how long others have had off work with same surgery?

Many thanks

Hi I had my hysterectomy November 2018 I had 4 weeks off work, then returned for mornings for 2 weeks then it was the Christmas holidays as I work in a school. My colleagues were very supportive and ensured I didn't lift or bend to much as I recovered, as I work in a reception class so quite a physical job. If you need longer to recover don't feel bad and discuss a part time return as you will get exhausted quickly. Good luck x

I was signed off for 12 weeks immediately after my surgery then phased return over 4 weeks - desk job. It’s the tiredness that got me.

Im 6 weeks post op and no way near to going back to work. Everyone is very different in recovery. So I would just listen to your body. Xxx

I was off for 7 days and I was back to my exercise regimen on my 9th day. I'm surprised to see everyone needing so much time to heal. I was totally fine after a week.

You are told not to exercise for 6 weeks or even lift a kettle due to risk of a prolapse
