Coil worries/laparoscopy update

Hi Everyone,

I am nearly a week post op now and I'd say I'm doing pretty well, I'm up and about pretty much normal just a bit sore, all the trapped gas has gone thank god, which was causing me the most discomfort.

I only have one concern, I also had the mirena coil fitted during my procedure and over the past couple of days have terrible cramping in the lower part of my stomach when I go to the toilet, I'm unsure whether this is to do with the coil or bruising from my surgery? I was also taking movicol because I was informed my bowels were full (sorry to be graphic) but stopped taking that over a day ago now, I'm also getting terrible period like cramps down my legs and in my stomach, which I know can happen with the coil initially anyway, but it's really intense. I also just feel so bloated. Has anyone else experienced this after having the coil fitted? Any insight would be great.

Thanks xx

Hello , I’m also a week post surgery my bloated tummy has started to go down but today I have the same really full aching lower tummy groin and pelvic area like I’m going to have a period but I’m due yet. I didn’t have the coil fitted as I didn’t want it so it may not be down to the coil. Did you have endo removed? Xx

Hiya, yeah that's kind of what mines like but it's more prominent when I go to the toilet, like shooting pains in my lower stomach and then shoots down into my groin, stomach just feels sensitive too. Yeah they found endo on my left side and he told me he'd managed to get rid of it all and everything looked normal. I was given movicol because I had a full bowel so I've been back on phone to the ward I was on and they've advised me to keep taking it for a few days and if it doesn't ease ring back, they think my bowel might not be empty and that's what's causing it. My lower back is a bit numb too. Just fed up of the pain now really😕. Hope all is well with you xx

My bowel was a bit messed up but then o started taking activated charcoal and having a celery juice every morning cutting out gluten and processed foods and limiting dairy lot of fresh fruit and veg and my bowel movement have never been so good . Like clockwork now every morning and I’ve struggled for so long. Xx

That's great😊. They only gave me the movicol just to help because it was right after surgery is all, I don't usually have an issue with my bowel really, which is why it's got me thinking it could be coil related. But I'll give this a go and if it doesn't work I'll have to go down the root of maybe it's the coil xx
