How much relief after excision Lap??

Hi everyone,

I have had a second Laparoscopy yesterday. I had a diagnostic Lap and diaphthermy this time last year. This time I had a lot more endo, scar tissue and adhesions which was removed without damaging anything (which is a big positive) I’m just really sore and concerned about how much more I had less Than a year later.

I am just wondering if any of you ladies have had an excision Lap and how long you had relief from the painful endo symptoms??

Xx

I have relief for about 6 months and then the pain comes back. It has taken about 3 and then I went onto zoladex and it changed my life.

Currently off zoladex and waiting for another lap. 4th time lucky... but I said I wanted a hysterectomy as zoladex made such a difference and my womb seems to be controlling my life. (im 28 and so he wanted to do a lap first and then see when the pain returns again)

I think after mine I will go straight back onto zoladex.

I do have a friend that had surgery and has been pain free for over 10 years. I tell her she is one of the lucky ones!!

Good luck! :)

Hi Keke123, thank you for your reply.

Gosh that is not long at all is it :-(

I tried Zodalex in the summer (is this the same as prostap) temporarily switching off your ovaries? I had awful side effetcs off it so had to stop :-( I am really sensitive to synthetic hormones so not much works for me unfortunately.

I was hoping to try for a second baby after this Lap. I already have a little boy who is nearly 3 so feel very lucky. The thought of this pain/disease coming back though so soon puts me off trying again as I already struggle sometimes looking after the child I already have :-(

I really hope your 4th Lap is 4th time lucky and you get relief for a lot longer!! Good luck :-) xx

Yeah I think they are the same things. But take my comment with a pinch of salt. Everyone is different!!!

Mine has always been around 6 months so how ever long your last one lasted I’d have to assume it would be similar :)

Hey guys, I need to inform you guys Nancy nook endometriosis education on FB is a very good forum and has a vast knowledge on Endo. I know all are suffering in someway or the other so kindly have a look at it.

The biggest example is they have doctors who are pro at removing Endo from every part of the body that attacks and they do the diagnostic and excision in one lap. So it saves time and money and people have had very good results. Kindly check out. It may help one and all.
