I had my 3rd lap on 29 August. Recovery had been going as expected and I am no longer in pain /uncomfortable from the incisions. However, I am basically feeling all of the same endo/adenomyosis pains as I had before the op. My main symptom which is constant is a tight pulling feeling in my lower left pelvis. In my last two surgeries my bowel was stuck to my ovaries and uterus with adhesions which were removed. I also had excision of endometriosis in another areas. I am also still having the same lower back pain, cramping and the feeling of a sharp rod in my bum (these aren’t constant).
I am really worried this means my surgery wasn’t successful but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this? Did it take a while after surgery for you to stop having the pains you were having before surgery? I am just feeling confused as surely if the endo and adhesions have been removed that pain should have gone? I know I am only 3 weeks post op so I am not expecting to be feeling fully recovered but I was hoping there would be an improvement on my pain pre op.
Thank you!

I would give it a few months to be completely healed really as the insides take a lot in surgery all the moving etc. I had mine on Monday and this time I am going to take it easy for longer to fully heal. Us women tend to get up and get on with things not thinking of ourselves. About time that changed I think! Hope things improve and rest up! X
I had stage 4 recto vaginal Endo. My rectum was fused to my vagina. It was such a large adhesion it took several hours and two surgeons. I had my surgery at the end of February and I had a very difficult recovery. I have 15 chronic conditions as well which I’m sure played into the recovery. However I didn’t feel big changes until after a couple of months. It takes a lot longer for your insides to heal than the small incisions. Inside things are probably still raw. My specialist said I could even see more inflammation come down over the next few months (I’m around 6.5 months post op now). One of the things I noticed within a few weeks was that I didn’t have as much neuropathy in my feet!
Just remember you went through a tough surgery and need to be kind to yourself. Try speeding up your recovery by eating super clean. This will also help to reduce inflammation in your body. Remove gluten/wheat, sugar and dairy. I’m on a pretty strict anti inflammatory auto immune diet where I have to avoid lots of things. But it really helps with the over all feeling better.
Recovery from this type of invasive surgery takes time. They have to pull, burn and tear away the adhesions and rebuild your pelvis. A lot of inflammation and bruising from your surgery can be causing your post op pain. If it gets to the point that medication is no longer working, call your surgeon or go to the hospital. I have had many major surgeries because of endometriosis and a hysterectomy at 39. I wish more research was done to find a cure. Rest, drink fluids, stay off your feet and remember that you have been through a lot and need TLC 💕
Thank you lovely for your reply, I had forgotten from my previous ops the rollercoaster of emotions you feel. I just need to be patient and kinder to myself xx
