I had an abdominal hysterectomy and after 3 weeks I am suffering with groin pain like a burning sensation when I move. Is this normal?

Hi I'm 5.5 weeks post hysterectomy, yes I still experience a lot of pain, in the groin, stomach, hips and legs. We need to take it easy as our bodies are still recovering. It's the long game. Good luck, merry Christmas x

I had hysterectomy in August, I was key hole. But I had a lot of

Discomfort for a few months post

Op. There are so many stitches inside and it takes a good while

For everything. To heal. That coupled with the fact you have a big scar and I’m sure that feels

Tight as it has healed. But I would

Say if you are worried or feel unwell go to your gp or call the ward you had op at for advice. There is no harm in being checked over and having your mind put at rest. I wish you all the best xxx

Get in touch with the Consultant’s secretary. You should be due a follow up appointment in the next few weeks, but they normally tell you to get in touch directly if you develop problems. Good luck.
