Hi so I had a laparoscopy on the 18th and pretty much got diagnosed with adenomyosis.. I also had the mirena coil put in and since then it's been hell and I'm concerned that this isn't normal..
I'm in AGONY, when I say agony I mean so excrutiating I throw up, get chest pain and nearly pass out it consumes my body... feels like the worst contraction pain I've ever had and a constant ache. I used to get this sort of pain when I wasn't on the pill and when i was bleeding everyday..
At the moment I'm taking 2 dihydrocodeine, 2 paracetamol and a 1000mg ibruphon every 4-5 hours for the pain which is making me sleep for ages and doesn't always keep the pain at bay, I'm also bleeding severely heavy and my stomach is super bloated..
Today I threw up and I have a bit of a temp as well as being in pain, I'm not too worried as I had burger king McDonald's earlier and felt sick straight after so maybe it's food poisoning.
But yeah I honestly don't know what to do, if this is normal I don't think I can continue and might have to have it taken out, then again if I do that I have less options to treating my disease
Thinking of going to hospital if the pain doesn't go or I might wait until tomorrow morning if nec? Has anyone else had the same problems with mirena coil 2 to 3 weeks after? Thanks x

Diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis , after finding a ovarian cyst in A&E as well as kidney stones.☹️
Have private health insurance through work and decided on the M coil rather than a hysterectomy . Gynae oncologist consultant advised waiting six months for it to settle and advised me it wasn’t going to be great but to hang in there, before I had pain that made me pass out, blood clots the size of eggs, leg, hip pain and would bleed through a Tena thickest option in about an hour. Have had some weird problems with M coil , at night some hot flush type symptoms, elevated heat rate, feeling sick, tight chest , 3 weeks of light bleeding, but it is beginning to settle after 10 weeks
And the pain is still there but considerably less and the bleeding is light and starting to get into a cycle, give it six months, it does improve, know what you are going through and it seems like there is no end to it, I felt like you in the first weeks, hopefully it improves xx
Thank you, I noticed my strings were really long and that I could feel them really easily so I pulled them super gently and it just came out, didn't feel anything or even notice so now I'm wondering if it was out of place or too low down.. that would explain the agony pain xx
I gave it 8 months with these symptoms so had to have it renoved, with adenomyosis sufferers I really dont think it suits everyone. I had a low cervix too and didn't stop intermittent bleeding.
I felt my body rejected it.
Go with your gut feeling. If it truly felt wrong for you then dont re-visit it.
Oh no! I'm two weeks post lap and I had a Mirena Coil fitted..This post has scared me..and the comment!
I was a little apprehensive about it in the first place..but my surgeon said that it would be good and if I didn't get on with it I could have it taken out..I do have very strong pains throughout the day..and wondering if it's to so with the coil or just post op!? They've told me to give it a 6 month trial..As I have two kids and don't want anymore the only other option is to take the ovaries and womb (that's where they found the Endo) which I really don't want..I might suggest taking the endo away first as I'm only just 30 and really don't want to be put through the menopause!
I agree that doesn’t sound right, no wonder you were in so much pain , I could only feel the coil and had slight contraction type pains for the first 3-4 days. That’s a shame it hasn’t given you much confidence to have another one fitted☹️ It took some weeks but I am starting to see a huge difference and I am feeling much better than the awful monthlies I had. However gynaecologist said 1 in 10 people really don’t get on with the coil , really hoping you can find a good solution, if you were not planning a family in the future a hysterectomy could be a consideration, at one point I was tempted to have the whole lot removed, ovaries, womb , my mum did and said it was a good decision for her she had a adenomyosis and endo but a pretty big decision take care and wishing you the best x
Grateful that someone actually quoted stats that it doesnt agree witg everyone. 8 months of hellish conditions it gave me. On hysterectomy I had both adenomyosis and endometriosis very extensively.
