Hi - its been mentioned that Adenomyosis maybe the cause of the pain I am experiencing as its more difficult to detect. I have had laparoscopic surgery and there is no sign of Endometriosis but I have very similar symptoms. Does anybody have info/experience of this. Thanks

Doctor thinks I have Adenomyosis too, I am 44, 1 vaginal birth, tubal ligation and Novasure Endometrial Ablation in 2015. I had the ablation due to heavy abnormal bleeding. I have not had a period since then, which is great, BUT this pain that I have been experiencing the past year for up to 2 weeks in a month. I think it happens when I would normally have a period, but since I don't have periods anymore it's hard to tell. I'm seeing a new dr too because of insurance change and I'm not particularly fond of this dr. My last gyno was my dr for 20+ years. During my diagnosis the dr couldn't examine me much due to the pain from a boggy uterus. I've never been a chicken during gynecological visits, BUT GIRL, I thought I would jump through the ceiling. He prescribed an antibiotic to help with some of the inflammation and Toradol for the pain(it mostly dulls the pain). I go back to the dr next week for follow up and discuss hysterectomy and other options. I know I'm not going to take any BC pills I've been there and done that for many many years and from what I have researched it was just a bandaid and caused more harm then good. I'm laying here as I type with a heating pad and Toradol. This really sucks. I will more than likely go with the hysterectomy but I'm my mothers caregiver and she's waiting for a date for her mastectomy. I can't be down when I have to take care of her. So I'm hoping to be pain free somehow and soon. I keep thing that the Novasure ablation failed me...hmm Anyway sorry for the rant, hope you get the relief you need too. #ADENOMYOSISSUCKS

Hi - you sound as though you have had a nightmare! How did it go this week with the Dr? I too have had the ablation, which worked really well to reduce bleeding/flooding/clots and just normal period pains but it didn't get rid of this awful horrible pain! Dr's did think it was something when a mass showed on the CT scan, but I ended up having laproscopic surgery to remove a haematoma, which they have no idea how it got there! But that hasn't reduced this awful pain that I get. Do you have pain throughout the whole of the month and does the pain go through your back too? Thanks for responding :-)

Hi Jani I have Adenomyosis and found this out when I became extremely ill, lost a lot of weight, lost appetite, general feeling of unwell, hair loss, pain on right side of stomach, severe bleeding with flooding and clots too. Ultrasound didn’t pick it up, only when I had an MRI scan it showed Adenomyosis. I had never even heard of this condition before. Send me a private message if you want to chat x
