Hi Nikki, sorry you’re finding it difficult - it’s so disheartening. If you’ve been trying more than 6 months and you haven’t done so already, please see your doc. There’s lots of ladies on fertility network UK with adeno and/or endo undergoing fertility treatments. Good luck xx

I have I’ve seen numerous gynos they have said my overdoes are good but it’s because of my age that makes it harder I’ve been trying for over a year and there is nothing wrong with fertility side of things because I still ovulate xx

I am surprised they haven’t referred you to fertility specialist? They should be if you’re over 40 and been trying a year. I also ovulate every single month and have a regular 28 day cycle, however am undergoing ivf, as are many women in a similar position. It could be an implantation issue due to the adeno, I would most certainly push for a fertility referral. Depending on where you live, you may possibly have to go privately as some areas don’t fund treatment for over 40 year olds, but some do. Do you know what your AMH is? X

Sorry what does Amh mean xx

It’s a test to see what your egg reserve is. If it’s super low you may need ivf. Your Dr should test as part of the investigations x

hi I have adeno and endo and just as the comments already I have 26-28 day cycle ovulation every month. After undergoing several rounds of Ivf and having downregulation drugs I conceived naturally between cycles with my first and then again naturally with my second but very quickly after my first 6months to be exact. My two are complete miracles so It is possible but adenomyosis can affect implantation and therefore I agree you should try and see a specialist in adneomyosis and endo most endo specialists will be able to help with the adeno inj my experience. And also a fertility specialist. Wish you luck X

I don't know if I had Adenomyosis when I was trying to conceive but I did keep getting pregnant but things going wrong. One thing that made a difference to me was going part time to work and taking any stress away that I could. Not sure if that helps you it wasn't easy to go part time money wise but certainly helped me.

Hi Nikkiwall

I also am 42, struggling to fall pregnant and have adenomyosis. I have however, had a stint of doing IVF to help me as I have been trying for more than 7 years. I have also been able to fall pregnant naturally but experience miscarriages within the first trimester. Having adenomyosis can cause implantation issues and we have much larger uteruses and thicker functional walls of the uterus down to the legions.

I was put into chemical menopause for 6 months before having embryo transfer, this was to suppress my system of estrogen to allow the adenomyosis to reduce and allow my uterus to reduce in size as it is an inflammatory condition that is fed by estrogen - so essentially take away the estrogen and the condition reduces, creating a more susceptible environment for a baby to grow. For me doing this allowed for implantation to take place on my next transfer but stopped growing soon after. Because of my age and the terrible experience I had whilst in menopause I decided not to do so again. But there are many on the fertility UK network that have had success.

I found a great difference in my menstrual cycle for the better by changing my diet. I switched to an anti-inflammatory diet cutting out dairy and gluten especially helped, taking natural fruit, vegetables and supplements that are known to have inflammation properties have also helped. I am not sure of the extent of your adenomyosis but mine causes bad lover back pain which is chronic, crippling periods and heavy blood loss, so finding ways to help my everyday life as well as trying to conceive I do. Supplements which have helped; serrapeptase (reduces scar tissue in the body), curcumin, ginger amongst others that will help maintain or increase my egg quality such as CoQ10, NAC and others.

I do wish you well in your journey and feel free to DM me if you want a little more info. I have not found success as yet but I am very confident that all the changes I have made over the years are making positive differences.

On the NHS you will not get up with IVF but knowing the extent (which they can see by doing a MRI) will help hugely in your journey. You’ll at least have an idea of what you are dealing with.

I have no experience of this at all, but have you had a hysteroscopy to check your tubes are clear? I know someone even without endo who wasn't getting pregnant, had a hysteroscopy and was told by the doctor no obstructions but the dye they inject to see them gives the tubes a good flush through, next few months and she was pregnant. Probably only works for a small number, but if everything else works might be worth an investigation. Wishing you every success! xx
