Treatment or what to do

Hi guys, I got diagnosed with endo in 2006 when I was 18/19 which which was a good diagnosis being that age as usually it takes years to diagnose.

So basically I had a lap and diathermy in 2006 and then 6 months of zoladex, then in 2008 I had a further lap and excision, and they left a litre of adept in as I think things were sticking, I also had the mirera put in and started in six months of zoladex. I can't remember where exactly it was I no it was on both pelvic sidewalls, setting to do with inginal nerve, which explained my pain down my leg and also on pouch of Douglas. So the pain settled for a while. Anyway it came back I tried danazol etc, then been on and off. Ever since I've been on zoladex/ triporelin on and off had at least 5-6 courses over the years and about to have just a three month course as soon as I get the script.

So I'm due for gynea to fit the coil next month. Personally I want another laproscopy and the coil put in then with zoladex afterwards instead of now.

My consultant left and I have a complicated history due to having a mitrofanoff so needed to be referred to someone else. But I'm still waiting.

Would you guys push for another lap? Also does putting in the mirena hurt.

Thanks x

Hi,

I had the mirena inserted as a form of 'treatment' for endo before having a lap when i finish my uni degree. I can't sugar coat it and pretend its pain free, its uncomfortable, but not to the point where I had to have them stop. I took 2 ibuprofen and paracetamol before going into the appointment and I'm glad I did. The rest of the afternoon after having it in, I had horrid period pains so I spent it in a warm bath with a hot water bottle.

Hope this helps, every woman's experience of having the mirena inserted is different. :) x
