Acupuncture does it work ?

I have stage 4 endo - have had two laps but not much removed as bowel too involved. I’m under a specialist at guys in London who are excellent but I’m always deterred from the surgery which is now termed ‘major’ and poss of temp colostomy bag also frightens me. Anyway pain is the worst it’s ever been and I’ve just stared weekly acupuncture sessions and am about to look into Pilates- had anyone had any success with the alternative treatments? Thanks

For some people, it does. For others, it doesn't. It really is worth trying to see if it helps you.

Best of luck. xx

I've been told my next operation will result with a stoma. I'm really scared too.

Have they offered the hormone jabs?

This has given me so much relief

I did have zoladex about two years ago and have a mirena coil - not had any recent injections though. Have hospital app this week so will see what’s next ? Its the stoma thing that’s concerning me - they say temporary and it would be reversed so need to think about what’s best. Good luck with your treatment x

I'm in the exact same position. I'm looking at December for my operation and a stoma for 6-9 months. It's upset me so much. It should never be able to get this severe, we shouldn't have to go through this. Are you having a hysterectomy too?

Yes I think so - I am lucky to have found a consultant who really understands it but having had really bad periods from the age of 15 it wasn’t until I was 34 that I got a diagnosis.... too long

I think having a good consultant is like winning the lottery. My last surgeon tried to remove a fallopian tube keyhole. He couldn't do it, so he cut me open and still couldn't do it! And he didn't go through the original cut from years ago.

Luckily I have a new surgeon who specialises in severe endo via keyhole.
