Recovery time after hysterectomy, excision and cyst removal?

Hi everyone. My surgery is in just over 2 weeks time and am starting to get very nervous about recovery time and the op itself! I have stage 4 deep inviltrating endometriosis and adenomiosis. I have a cyst on my right ovary. I am currently taking prostap which has worked wonders and stopped most symptoms which has been great apart from the hot flushes! Before taking prostap my right leg was becoming weak and I was convinced endo had grown into my nerves. My consultant is aware and I have been told surgery could be 5-6 hours it will involve excision, cyst removal and a hysterectomy (ovaries will not be removed) I will be on a morphine pump or epidural when I come out of theatre which when being told at my pre op assessment appt has really scared me! I should expect to be in hospital for 3 days oh and I need an enema as soon as I am admitted! I am a busy mum of two, with a part time job and a business and not very good at sitting still! Can anyone who has had similar surgery please advise. I will be sure to rest and will listen to my body to ensure I feel well before resuming back to busy family life. I am on my last dose of prostap now so I really hope the surgery helps to keeps things at bay. Can anyone else relate to this or advise how long it took for them to fully recover? I am going to be 40 in 9 months and I really want to get fit, strong and healthier than I have ever been by then! Thankyou

Oh I also have rectovaginal endo! Any advise would be great x

My case sounds really similar to yours. I’m 3 weeks post op on Thursday this week and doing really well! The difficult thing is holding myself back from doing too much as I feel so well xxx

Thats really reassurring to hear Janine that after 3 weeks you are doing well. I can imagine its hard to hold back. Taje care and thanks for replying.
